View Full Version : Do you feel sorry for Segun?
Poor bloke was so upset and confused which has now marred what should have been a really happy last couple of days for him. Totally inappropriate of Hanah's friend to bring that up.
Also what is Seguns great crime? He clearly is a bit conflicted about his relationship with Hanah so that's something he's trying to work through. He doesn't want it to be perceived as a romantic relationship but when all the housemates are in his ear about it that's going to make things awkward.
I think his comments about 'she always comes to me' were a bit poorly judged but not crime of the century especially compared to the comments other housemates have made about each other. And overall he's been a really good friend to Hanah so it wasn't nice of her 'home girls' to plant this idea that he's a total snake.

No not in the slightest.
I'd say the whole situation is 50/50, his fault and Hanah's fault...
Hanah throwing him under the bus doesn't make her look great after they've been playing around with each other FOR WEEKS. She could've put it to him directly at any time... but Segun also could've done the same. Instead he kept up with the flirting in the house despite how it may have been perceived by others and it was very disrespectful to "his girl" on the outside. So yeah, neither look great, imo... Hanah gets away with not admitting she might have had feelings for him and Segun gets away with "being himself"... whoever that is.

BB is pushing for a woman to win, and the edit on BB always gets aggressive against the men in a year where they want a woman to win.
BB15 was the same, even having BBOTS (as it was known back then) slagging off the male Housemates on a regular basis.
God knows why they have to be like this, but it is definitely BB's way of getting a woman to win Big Brother.
I personally think that Segun is getting the rough end of the stick a little bit.

It's really not that bad but they are so close to a win it is a great opportunity for Hanah :spin: I think unfortunately for Segun, with both Hanah and Ali there is a bit of tactical gameplay going on there. As if anyone was actually emotionally invested in a Hanah + Segun pairing..

Yeah I feel he was thrown under the bus a bit, he has never been nominated for eviction either so obviously his HMs like him, Ali and Nathan are both so full of spite they cant contemplate that someone can be just nice, he is obviously committed to being a Christian and tries to live his life that way, not sure why there is so much suspicion about it, someone put it very well on L and L that he is not living up to the black man stereotype and that is throwing some people, if he were a fan fave and not Ali she would be called racist for some of her comments lbr, okay he hasn't handled it well, but then he has said he has never had a girl as a friend before and if he is in some sort of arrangement which I feel he might be, he might be feeling awkward about it, it made uncomfortable viewing last night, he was getting alot of Love on Late and Live though which was nice to see
…no, I didn’t feel sorry for him…he can be ‘two sides of the coin’ in that whatever bind he and Hanah have…it’s always felt to us and indeed to the housemates that it’s an equal/mutual thing…but in intimating that any affection or attention mainly came from Hanah, is just not good…the suggestion was that he needed a massage after the choice he’d had to make in the vault/a difficult day for him and did he go straight to Hanah to hope for that calming massage…Im thinking that’s quite likely…anyway, it’s not so much their friendship and what’s mutual etc…it’s how he’s reacted a few times when he’s felt something he thinks is ‘criticism’ …’it’s Hanah, honestly it it…’…’it was Marcello with the coining of the red witch label’….no sir, no Lord…it’s not me…
….he's not a bad person at all, but it sometimes feels as though he feels that he has to ‘be perfect’ and in doing that, he won’t self improve…because that first step it to acknowledge….
…anyway, it all gave a great moment of comedy for the others in his self pity in climbing the stairs ….

I personally don't really agree with messages from home.
Even moreso with them only being a 6 week series.
However since they permit them and if anyone who cares for the housemate they're connected with, then giving a reason of concern about anothers attention to them is more in order.
I think had Hanah been kind of warned against Ali for instance
Then the caller would have been termed brilliant and more cheered from those against Ali.
So in light of that, I repeat, no I don't feel sorry for Segun.

I think it's more complex than that. Hanah is, rightfully, taking advantage of the prophetic ministries of her bestie. (Who sounded very interesting on L&L, btw. I've love to know more about their relationship.)
I'm sure Hanah knows after spending weeks with Segun that his highest form of English is literally waffle. No one seems to be confused about that re: Segun in the house.
He doesn't even deny their chemistry, but wants his private thoughts to remain speculative. That would be fair if the relationship were on the outside and progressing at a much more casual pace. However, he's a complete simpleton if he thinks that doesn't come across in any number of ways on camera.
He's ducking admitting anything to the speculation when being confronted about their relationship, because just like Hanah, the speculations were a convenience for the sake of camera time as long as they just stay speculation...
I don't believe Hanah wasn't conscious of how their relationship was coming across on the cameras, as if it weren't ambiguous. I don't believe that for a minute about Segun, either. I just think they were making the most out of the experience, whatever it ends up being. There's nothing wrong with that.
What's changed is they're at the end of it, Segun has won 10K in self-pity bucks fresh out of the prize fund, and the "showmance" has run its full course. So it's like both are tossing a ticking bomb back and forth hoping it won't blow up in their own faces because they're obviously both incredibly concerned how it makes each of them look, for whatever reason.
Obviously, if Segun had admitted feelings, that would've got her off the hook. But Hanah knew there was "another girl" on the outside and she's been rather physically affectionate with him, stroking his ear and the like, despite this (her choice whoever initiated it), so she doesn't want to bear the full responsibility for that. That's fair. But her behavior was anything but innocent... but it was harmless... so for me, it's complex
I think they're both talking crap atm. I don't think of Hanah as a mug or a fool. I don't think Segun is as confused as he portrays himself to be.
I think she's a very intelligent lady and is playing the game and giving Segun a run for his money (literally) and she's not wrong for that. It's complicated, but I'm not giving Hanah a full pass... I think she's well aware of Ali's popularity and personality as the victim wrangler and it's all too obvious to me that she's going for the win. I can't blame her, she could lose 90K all over a man who can't figure himself out... her friend's warning is basically that, put him and his waffle to the side and focus on why she is actually in there.

Especially when it's nearly the final, what is the point in stirring up trouble. Hanah & Segun might want to say more to eachother but can't in the house.
I think they should have just left it until the show had ended ,then they could have sorted it out privately instead of the awkward drama we saw on our screens.
BB threw a party for all 6 finalists, but that silly voice note put a dampener on things . Why not just let them enjoy their last few days in the house .
Especially when it's nearly the final, what is the point in stirring up trouble.

Yeah people need to get with the times. Niamh still using her land line and dial up modem.
