View Full Version : Joe Rogan ….. thoughts ?!
As per thread title
I really like him on his YouTube channel/ podcasts or whatever … but whilst he’s ok on the UFC coverage he just looks/behaves so differently than when he’s on his own channel doing interviews !?!?
Any thoughts

He speaks a lot of sense re. the hypocrisy between two of the most destructive substances in the world (alcohol and tobacco) vs. other drugs and yada-yada but in some other ways he’s a baby white supremacist. I just extract the sense from his videos and podcasts and ignore the rest.

The Democrats now regret not going it.

I only watch his stuff when he’s interviewing people I’m interested in

I would really like to see examples of that bold claim

It won’t be understood so what’s the point?

So no examples then?

I’ll chime in on this later but considering the blatant racism and xenophobia on this forum that gets overlooked by the moderating team on here I don’t expect you to understand a word I have to say about Joe Rogan. I can try later on when I have more time but defending obvious culprits of racial bait doesn’t exactly fill me with confidence that you’ll see where I’m coming from with him. And that’s nothing personal, and I have a lot of time and respect for you, Niamh, but since you’re asking, I might as well be honest. I don’t see you understanding where I’m coming from with this.

So you just want to be able to make statements about people and not have to back that up with anything. You called the guy a white supremacist that's a terrible thing to accuse a person of being.
Also, stop being so rude and insulting to people.

I came late to Rogan. Probaly six months ago.
I like him. He makes good conversation. And he actually listens to the person he's interviewing.
I've also seen his comedy stage act. The guy is multi-talented.

I only watch interviews with people I'm interested in, but I always enjoy them.
I'm not sure how to phrase this but I like his ability to talk about such varied things, and contribute to different topics and conversations, even with things he doesn't seem (or admits) to know a lot about.
Though I was a bit disconcerted that he said he was a fan of RDKjr - I've not actively sought out information about the man, but that which has reached me makes me think he's a bit nuts?
We tend to view everything from a european perspective, the fact is the USA has always been nuts. Loud voices have tried to cover it up for a long time, but it is still basically nuts. So any impressions of people have to be against that baseline

He is completely different on the UFC tv coverage
Kinda exited and giddy with a funny grin- his persona is just so different to his own channel

He would have been considered a right leaning centralist 10 years ago. Now he's a "white supremacist" :joker:
As our Arista would say - Sigh of the times.

His older stand-ups were great.
His more recent ones are absolutely dire, phoned in and playing to the absolute lowest common denominator.
His podcast would be better if it was more balanced; anyone who would claim that it is, currently, balanced is either heavily leaning in the same direction or lying to themself. I don't think he's a "baby white supremacist", I think his own personal views are probably fairly balanced, and I think his podcast FORMAT would be good if it was properly balanced.
However.
His audience would decrease.
And he knows what the bulk of his audience is looking for.
And he's happy to cash in on that.
That isn't "nothing", I suppose is what I'd say there.
