they could also have gone for the voice actor of Spock from Resurgence, also a very striking resemblance as well a great role he had in that video game

I recognised the Saavik actress from Star Trek 3.

The music was done by Michael Giacchino who is a top Hollywood composer, so they must spent a fair bit on it.
