by the kind of car they drive?

For example if someone drove a dodgy old skoda would you get in and go for a spin with them or are you a car snob!

Would you ride in a plastic pig ( 3 wheeler job)
How about a mini metro?

Whats your idea of a great car and whats your idea of an awful car!

I personally like a nice looking motor, I have a lovely shiney Renault Megane 1.9 DCI 120 BHP which is very fast and very smart! Not everyone's cup of tea because of the big butt they have but I love it.

I personally am very fond of BMW's. I like big cars like BMW jeeps, Land Rovers etc etc. I'm not fond of ford cars as it reminds me of a creepy school teacher from my old school!

I like smart looking cars instead of designy sport cars.

This is our family car:

Also, I quite like Skodas  The new ones anyway. I don't really judge someone on their car but I'd still be worried getting into either a) a total banger, or b) a chavved up car.

I am afraid that most of us do judge people by the Car they drive.

But, it tends to be a "Class" thing and money has a lot to do with that.

If you visit a petrol station and pull your car up, ready to fill up with petrol or deisel and you are driving an old car(Banger), which is worth about £400 - £500 max and suddenly, someone pulls up next to you and gets out of their brand new BMW or something else expensive, then, if they look at you and your cheap Car, then the judgement get's made.

They may think, "I wouldn't be seen dead in an old banger like that??"

and, looking at the reverse angle to this and looking through the eyes of the owner of the older Car, who looks over at the owner of the new BMW

He might think, "Lucky for some when your rich??"

It all comes down to "Class" and "Money".

Those that have and those that haven't.

and what do I drive??

A Car that get's me from A to B and is worth about £400 - £500

A Cars a Car and I have no interest in the look of a car whatsoever. I keep up with the safety and legal side of owning a car, but, in regards to the look or the price of a Car, well, I'd rather spend money on something which isn't going to go down in value.

It doesn't interest me one bit.

They do say, that, "Some people look at their cars as an extention to their pr*ck"

It is only a saying, but quite a true one for those who live for their Car:wink:

At the end of the day.
A car is a car.
4 wheels and a steering wheel. all the basics.

aslong as it gets me from A 2 B i'm happy.

My car will be a Hyundi Getz when I pass my test.

Ryan I had a Hyundai Getz as a courtesy car and it was lovely to drive, a little to small for my needs but I certainly wouldnt sniff at one as a get around motor.

As for cars being a means of getting from A to B I agree to a certain extent but surely you want to do that in comfort, and in a reliable car. I travel a lot of miles for my work and need a reliable car. I am not posh or rich but I do need a serviceable car that is not constantly in need of repair or to be kept an eye on as it is ageing. I like to buy cars that are 2-3 years old, I hate the thought of losing all that money the minute you drive a new car off the forecourt of a dealership.

Also I confess I am a car snob of sorts, I like a nice looking car, I have my car valeted monthly to keep it looking nice (to lazy to do it myself) and my hubby keeps it lovely and shiney in between. :cheer2:

I like Alfa Romeos. The Alfa Romeo 156 is one of the best looking cars I've seen on the road in my opinion.

Exactly.

I couldn't care less personally, a car is there to get you somewhere and that's all it will ever be to me.

Ooh, my favourite car is those new Honda Civics (I don't know their technical name.... or whatever, not really "up" on the car thing).

I've got to admit I judge people by what car they have. You can spot a chav car from a mile away. I haven't seen any emo cars yet though.

I agree as long as it gets me from A-B as safely as possible that is all that matters. Regardless of money I would never want a car bigger than needed for my purposes.. A Metro has always been just my cup of tea...

I don't see tham as a status symbol. But I do judge people that do see them as a status symbol. I judge them as having more money than sense.....And disregarding the environmental effects of having Big.Big.Big....

Not by what type of car they drive, but if it's all chavved up, then I probably do, yes.
