Same here. A lot of kids in my school had sly booze at Christmas with their parents consent.:shocked::shocked:
Probably wasn't the 1st.
But I remember ouzo, and me trying to hoover up my own puke on my newest girlfriends fathers lawn at about half 4 in the morning.
1st was a cherry though 7 year old(MAX)
A proper old womens cherie, from the 70s.
I blame them for my later life addictions

My very first alcoholic drink was Southern comfort.
It has remained my first choice of alcoholic drink since.

Oh god Ouzo brings so many memories screaming back. What’s the other one similar to that?

When I was 12 or 13, a relative in Germany sent my Dad a bottle of Asbach and he, not being much of a drinker, thought it was wine and gave us all a glass with our Sunday dinner as a treat. I thought it was horrible but knowing no better, drank it anyway. Turned out it was German brandy. We were all very happy and merry.

Haig whisky when i was 10. Me and my pal took 2 miniatures from his house and cycled up a hill and drank them. We also used to drink vodka and diluting juice and play snooker on a Sat night when his Mum and Dad went to the pub again around 10 or so. At home it was Babycham at new year
…I think probably Poitín, which my dad always had a bottle in…

A snowball on Christmas eve when i was about 7....in a glass the size of a shot glass....I acted drunk for around 3 days after. I wasn't allowed one again as I got on my mums nerves too much with the dramatic falling around "drunk"

…when we had guests, those little shot glass/type ones were what mom would give guests the sherry in…actually I think they were sherry glasses…

The ones my mum had were very 70s.....they were blue glass with a teeny handle

…oh we never had the handle, I feel cheated…it was obviously the added handle that made your Snowball so strong in alcohol……

Omg…I love a snowball…in fact I bought a bottle today for Christmas. It’s the only time I drink it.
What were those little bottles of alcohol called .. Babychambe ??

Soooo my wife makes a huge fruit based Christmas cake with sherry .. early December
Each day building up to Christmas last year unbeknown to me - she injected more sherry in each night as it seemed a tad dry … but unbeknown to her - so was I ..
Fabulous

My grandmother used to drink Buckfast tonic wine, I had a few swigs of that around age 10, first proper drink we were 15 or 16 and got served Babycham in a hotel bar, we thought we were the bees knees and I was sure I was drunk after half a glass
I saw a set of those Babycham glasses in a Charity Shop recently and I was going to buy but then thought they would only gather dust, although I suppose you could serve pornstar martini in them

Half a pint of Guinness when I was about 8 years old.
I'd had a terrible stomach bug for days that wouldn't shift and had to spend the day with my Granddad so he took me to the local working men's club to have a game of pool and got me a Guinness to "settle my stomach".
It worked too! :joker:
