View Full Version : Grace Dent confirmed to replace Gregg Wallace as MasterChef host…
Grace Dent is reportedly in the running to replace Gregg Wallace as the host of MasterChef, with the BBC expected to make an announcement this week
The experienced food critic, who appeared on I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here… last year, currently features as a guest judge on the popular cooking show alongside co-host John Torode.
The 51-year-old left the jungle after just a few days due to health concerns but has now emerged as a strong contender for the role, despite earlier speculation James Martin was the favourite to replace Wallace.
Wallace recently stepped back from MasterChef following misconduct allegations, including claims he asked a young journalist for a kiss.
The BBC has since pulled Christmas specials featuring Wallace, while production company Banijay investigates the complaints.
The 60-year-old initially said: "I can see the complaints coming from a handful of middle-class women of a certain age, just from Celebrity MasterChef. This isn't right."
However, he has now backtracked on this comment and apologised, saying he “wasn’t in a good headspace” when he spoke.
The Sun reports that Wallace had described his situation as terminal and does not expect to be back.
A source told the paper: “Grace is the perfect choice to replace Gregg on Masterchef.
"She’s knowledgeable about food and opinionated, plus it’s great to have a woman as a judge on the show. It will shake things up and give the series the boost it needs after such an upsetting and uncertain time.
“She is already a fan favourite and has won lots of respect in the foodie world thanks to her no-nonsense style and sense of humour.
“Bosses love her already, know she is a safe pair of hands and trust her to help steer the ship with John to steadier waters.”
Dent has not commented.

Isn't she doing enough on TV as it is, I even recently saw her stuffing her face at buffets in Las Vegas in a TV show.

I would have preferred Monica, but I like Grace Dent.
She knows her stuff about food.

I'm exactly in your position on this tbh.
…Grace Dent is apparently now confirmed to replace Gregg Wallace…
Have to agree about her having no real personality. Surely pretty hard to do this job when you don't like eating meat as well

I always thought Greg Wallace was an odious character. If audience numbers didn't dwindle when he was on, I'm sure Grace Dent won't do any worse. I like her.

the chef in the judges is John
Gregg is more a greengrocer
which is why The Professionals has the better judge panel tbh, in two qualified chefs Marcus Wareing and Monica Galletti
Grace is a excellent replacement for Gregg, she already has been in quite a few of those critics rounds so, pretty sure the level of quality will go up either, with her expertise
as for Celeb Masterchef, well you don't really have to judge too harshly there  although they judge to a somewhat similar extent as with civilian Masterchef, to those who they see the ''potential'' in, but toning things down critique wise to the lesser ''chefs'' who are more giving off home cook vibes

Masterchef Australia always has the superior judge panels honestly
still am not over Jock Zomfrillo's death at such a young age  he was also such a nice addition to the renewed judges line up
but anyway having a former contestant there as a judge in Andy Allen, he's also quite lovely in other food shows we even in netherlands air on 24Kitchen, same as the surfer guy Hayden Quinn, he is also very lovely

i'm someone who has autism, but i wouldn't do what he did i swear it on literally everything, on the contrary btw, i might be a guy, but i tend to get along better with girls, women in a normal respectful way

I also have autism and I also get on far better with women than guys but I put it down to me not being a ‘blokey’ bloke …
