Seen this coming for ages unfortunately.
Crazy for us in the NW , England .. must be one of the wettest places on Earth paying top water rates and getting occasional hose pipe bans

You're not paying for the water itself Zizu, you're paying for the infrastructure that allows the water to be cleaned and reach your house to come out of your taps.

Oh yes I know … plus the infrastructure is completely b*ggered with leaks everywhere ..
Just seems odd that we pay sooo much when it rains ( seems to ) more or less every gawd damn day !

Water bills will be 600.00 in 5 years, lets hope it doesn't find its way into shareholders pockets rather than any investment

Households face inflation-shattering water bill increases of up to £224 a year in April in the biggest wave of hikes since privatisation.
Watchdogs called for urgent help for customers already battling to cope, as it was confirmed prices will surge by as much as 47% in one hit. Mike Keil, chief executive of the Consumer Council for Water, said: “These rises are the largest we’ve seen since privatisation and will heap considerable pressure on millions of customers who are already having to make difficult choices.”

The infrastructure that's already been paid for ten times over....worse money grab than the QE2 bridge this.

Once that's been paid of then we should only be paying for the wages and the day to day running costs.
It should come down, not go up..nobody should profit from water, it's ridiculous to think or do so.

I agree as it happens - free access to clean water is one of the most basic things that any government should be providing.
