I'm going to try and embrace this fully in the New Year, well from now really...

You never know what's going on for a person, and even a slightly snappy remark might sting all the more so if they are feeling sensitive.

2 people have confided health concerns about relatives to me recently, I'll keep the details confidential. It's hard to know what to say, so I like to listen and just say I'll be there for them.

I used to have abig mouth a few years ago. Often say the wrong thing.

Over the years I've calmed down a lot. Most recently in the last 12 months.

You're right about not knowing what people have going on in their lives. There's this unfriendly bad mannered guy who works in my local Morrisons. Recently I thought maybe his wife or daughter is ill in hospital. You never know.

Yeah my brother in law has a simple outlook on folk .. he says if someone fails to thank you for holding a door open for them or is unusually rude to you .. they may have just had an almighty row with someone or been told off unfairly by their boss or possibly have a poorly baby at home / in hospital
