The civil war is not between Trump and Musk. Are your news sources tilted too far from this arista? Are you unaware of what's been going on? Fascinating.

The ... friction (inevitable friction - he is an immigrant tech billionaire) has been between Musk and what has been the core MAGA support base.

It would be delicious even if Trump was against Musk in this. He is largely keeping quiet but from the hands that he has tilted ... it's blatantly clear that Trump is aligned with Musk. Because he is also about the $$$ dollars and now that he's won his 2nd and final term he doesn't need to pretend that he's there to drain the swamp any more.

All the "Messiah Trump"-ists are about to find out that they got played and he doesn't give a shiny golden shyte about even one of them. He's not going to drain the swamp. He lives in the swamp. It's glorious stuff. 2025 is going to be a circus.

Tbh I think anyone who has strong feelings (either way) about all this needs to touch some grass, pronto.

Trump's going to be Just Another President(tm) like last time, and any course change from the Dems will be minimal ... like last time.

Unless you're just watching it all and laughing. But it's too boring for me to even muster that response.

It's not really about the election or government politics, the fact that the politics of the most powerful country in the world has descended into a display of high-school level baiting and trolling has some fairly major societal implications. We're in the midst of watching the world's grandest pyramid scheme in its final stages, imploding on itself. What a time to be alive I guess.

i thought the best bit was where Musk started banning and removing the verified status of maga supporters that disagreed with him on X  He basically demonetised all their content on X

"For some reason" none of the usual thread starters have started a thread on this. I refer, of course, to the massive rift that's erupted amongst the redhats due to Musk (and let's face it, Trump) defending and moreso actively promoting the continuation (or encouragement) of US Visas for foreign workers coming to work in tech in the US... vs the "classic MAGA" high-profile supporters who are saying "What about the whole American jobs for Americans" thing.

There's a lot more to it than that but I'm sure people will have been quietly following this/weeping.

Thoughts?

Permanent and irreparable fracture in MAGA? Really it was only a matter of time before the salt-of-the-earth economic Republican MAGAs realised that tech/property billionaires like Trump and especially Musk are, in fact, not champions of the common man but are (surprise!!) primarily focussed on ... ... ... billionaires.

My favourite episode so far was the one where Musk earnestly explained to the angry MAGAs that there isn't enough intellectual talent in the US to fill the roles so they simply HAVE to import it from Asia. Screaming :joker:.

It's up there with him going on X and telling the core veins-running-red Republican base that if they don't like it they can "go fk themselves". Chef's kiss Christmas material.

How's TiBB feeling about it?

Like I said not much chatter usually Trump and Musk stuff does good numbers on here .

That's definitely some interesting information.

I don't get how anyone falls for Trump or Musk tbh, they just say what makes some people feel better, rather than the actual truth.

I understand that.

But both points can be true imo.

it's interesting that Arista is trying everything he can to divert attention away from the actual thread topic, the ongoing maga civil war that is causing them to self destruct as we speak
