View Full Version : Getting through the auditions
Is there a particular housemate/s you have thought 'how did they get through the auditions'? if so then who and how do you think they pulled it off? was/is it all about acting and lying?

Emily. Looking at the auditions i really did not see anything that to me would make her stand out.

Nicky! Because other than her stating she is a man hater, there was nothing about it. I also think they were hoping she will make a big deal about being an Indian adopted by a christian family. But she hasnt even mentioned it on the show, in her VT she mentioned it a lot.
And Liam, I dont know how in the hell he got picked. There is nothing remotely interesting about him, other than good looks. I guess he was the random, good looking guy, who is awfully plain.

Good topic. I'd have to say the twins. Much as I like them, surely at some point they must've encountered someone who was totally hostile, blunt and damn nasty towards them during their auditions. And from what we've seen so far, I would've expected them either to quit of their own accord at that point, or to have got really upset and for the production team to have decided they weren't up to the task. Maybe that suggests they're tougher than many of us may think?
I'd say Tracey could certainly hold her ground if need be, but there hasn't really been any need for her to do so yet, which may be why she's mostly stayed in the background. Perhaps with the auditions likely to be far more intense, they expected her to be more volatile? I suppose Liam got through because he has a few stories to tell and he's easy on the eye, whether there's little else going on there or not.
I think Carole must've seriously pulled the wool over their eyes, though. Being an older lady, and hardly 'eye candy' by most people's interpretations, they must've seen something from her that we've not so far. Probably what we saw in her vt in fact, which we've seen precious little of in the house itself. I'm guessing the vt's are at least semi-scripted, and someone from the production team decides on what should and shouldn't be included, before everything is trimmed even further in the editing suite. And although the vt's are rarely anything like what we get in reality, Carole's stands out far more than anyone else's. It's almost like two entirely different people.

I think gerry got through because he claimed he could turn any straight man gay or something, what a load of rubbish!
He was obv lying at that.

Nicky, Tracey, Carole, and Liam - How and why were they ever chosen? Good topic BTW!

Nicky's a good choice because BB obviously knew about the all female opening night and a man hater would fit in there perfectly.
