nicky does not hate men, nicky has been in several relationships were men have broken her heart, and she says 'i hate men', so that when it happens again (which she thinks it will) she can say 'ooh im not bothered anyway because i hate men'. she does this so that when men hurt her (which she is used to), she can pretend she doesnt care because she hates men anyway. nicky secretly is searching for a man to love (she tried with liam), just imagine:

you are a boy who has a really really big crush on a girl, but then you find out she doesnt like you, wouldnt you say 'oh i dont care because i never liked her really', i am sure you would. well this is just what nicky is doing

i find it really upsetting that nicky gets hated for saying she hates men, when really she loves them and just uses it for a barrier for when they hurt her. nicky is a innocent, kind, loving girl, probably the nicest person in the house deep down, so can we stop with the nicky hatred.

exactly, nicky is searching for a man, she only says she hates them because she is used to getting hurt by them, so when she gets hurt by a man (which she thinks will happen), she can say 'oh i dont care because i hate men anyway', she doenst deserve to be hated, she is very kind and sweet, i dont think she 'hates' anybody, she is the most kind considerate person in the house, but shes being hated foe protecting herself (by saying she hates men so when they hurt her she can hit back saying she isnt bothered because she hates them!)

you are really missing the point:

nicky WANTS to look sexist, she WANTS people to think that she hates men, so that when a man hurts her, she can act as though she doesnt care because she hates men. nicky doesnt hate men, nicky just wants a man that will love and care for her, not a man that lie and cheat to her, nicky is probably the hm who most wants a man/wedding/kids etc, shes just lonely and wants somebody to love her, i cant believe she is getting hated for this!

i know, i worked it out a while back (another example!)

if there is a 'gang' in the playground at school, and you want to be in the gang, but when you asked they rejected you, you would say 'oh i dont care, i never wanted to be in that gang', when really, thats what you wanted most in the world, this is what nicky is doing, she is pretending to hate men, when really she wants to the full shabam: the the wedding/the kids etc!

If i was rejected from a gang at school i wouldnt say i hate all gangs just that one,but nicky says shes a manhater she doesnt talk about percific realtionships she just hates men in general,and she says love is for losers doesnt sound like she wants a family and kids to me.
