Because obviously it's quite trendy on the Internet to attack younger generations and things that modern society is getting wrong, which tbf there is a fair bit that is wrong with modern society.

However, what is the one thing that you wish was more socially acceptable when you were a kid, that's seen as normal in today's society?

I think that people's reactions being more widely negative towards animal cruelty in today's society is something that I see as a huge improvement, because when I was growing up (and I doubt that this was just a Birmingham thing) there would be the sentiment of "it's only an animal."

Where as nowadays people do seem to look down at that attitude a lot more, which is the biggest compliment that I can give society over the last decade.

Drinking less alcohol.

White people being less racist.

People being less homophobic.

People vaping more than smoking nicotine (one’s the lesser of the two evils, for all the attractive grit, sometimes sultriness, attached to smoking itself).

Definitely not integrating, understanding if others is another no no...only thing I can think about is keeping fit, but even that's a stretch cause of all the fat gamers.

So, nothing really, absolutely nothing...do worse, now theres a thread that would run and run with suggestions.

I don't understand the generational thing. This generation is doing nothing particularly better. Young people allways think their generation is special... The rock and roll teens of the 1950s, the hippies and peace-niks of the 60s, the Punks of the 1970s... The truth is, and I say this having been young myself and not that long ago, the young have hardly any experience of the world and generally don't know **** from pickle. When they're older they won't need constant affirmation and assurance that they're special because they'll know they have more in common with older people than with tthe whole new generation of young people coming up thinking they're going to change the world.

it's just different generations that are not on an equal footing. There will always be good and bad aspects associated with every generation

So don't yield to the fortunes, you sometimes see as fate it may have a new perspective on a different day. And if you don't give up, and don't give in, you may just be okay
