looking forward to F2, with Juan Pablo Montoya's son Sebastian  i always liked his dad in F1 tbh, a very decent and very talented driver, currently competing in nascar i think

Quite a lot of rookie drivers in F1 this season.
I count 6 in their first full season.

There's a live event tonight at 8 PM, with all the drivers and where the cars will be revealed.

a unexpected withdrawal in F2, before the season started
Christian Mansell withdrew due to personal reasons, and is replaced by Amaury Cordeel
Nicky91
13-03-2025, 02:04 PM
my pre race 1 shot in the dark prediction who could be contenders in F2
i'd say
Victor Martins, Jak Crawford and Kush Maini maybe, but it'll all depend on who has a decent car this season
am also looking forward to Sebastian Montoya, if he is as talented as his dad

Yuki Tsunoda to replace Liam Lawson at Red Bull after his poor start to the season.
He only had two race weekends.

Max proved yesterday just how good he really is. Lando inventing the pit stop incident was quite funny.
James
07-04-2025, 07:04 PM
I don't get how Lando could be 1.5 seconds and Piastri a sec further behind the whole race and not challenge for the lead.

07-04-2025, 08:09 PM
It was a bit odd. Felt like they were afraid to push. I wonder if they're nursing brakes until and update at the next few races
Max is back !!
Red Bull with a special upgrade package incoming soon !!
Then he will be flying to his 5th consecutive world title
LoL

Don't make me believe it's possible haha. I am very delusional though

Its true … another two races ( maybe 3) with this setup and then the upgrade package is expected to be a massive improvement .

Really hope so. I'm wanting Max to pass the 70 wins mark this year too.

Nicky91

Sir Jackie Stewart, at the age of 85, he did some laps last weekend in his 1973 Tyrell winning car, to raise awareness for the battle against dementia, his wife has a form of dementia apparently
the helmet was signed by all living F1 world champions, including Michael Schumacher (whom had help with that by his partner)
Jackie is a absolute ICON

Nicky91
20-04-2025, 07:43 AM
15th for Ollie, decent
also the different between him and his teammate Ocon being 0.6
Lawson and also Antonelli had unsafe releases honestly at Q2 but only Lawson was noted by FIA :suspect:
Nicky91
21-04-2025, 01:44 PM
watched F2 Jeddah main race just back
Richard Verschoor, so DOMINANT! wow, 1.45's 1.46's while the rest were all 1.47's
also pitting that late into softs, so risky :clap1: and that overtake on Jak Crawford for the lead in the final lap
Verschoor also taking the lead in the drivers championship now :)
The Red Bull update looked good at the weekend
:::
Red Bull introduced a sizeable upgrade package to its RB21 at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, sources close to the Milton Keynes team have suggested.
Apart from the obvious adaptations to the car for wing-levels at the high-speed Jeddah circuit, upgrades Red Bull is bringing will not be immediately visible when the car is running on track with the main area of focus being the underfloor aerodynamics

Sebas Montoya, what a great few moves from him in Imola sprint race :clap1:
using Ollie Goethe as a pawn to get closer to Joshua Durksen, great 9th place result, only a shame no points
Nicky91
18-05-2025, 08:29 AM
Bortoleto should've not been in Q2
Bearman was over the line before the red flag :idc:
but you know a brazilian, always get favourite treatments tbh
Nicky91
19-05-2025, 01:43 PM
F2 Imola race just watched it back now
2nd win for Alex Dunne :D that irish anthem is quite nice to hear too with the podium
Sebastian Montoya 8th place, while he had to start from pit lane, since his car didn't start during formation lap, at least 4 points i guess
Richard Verschoor not great but from 21st at some point to 9th place with 2 points is still something i think
Nicky91
19-05-2025, 01:44 PM
also Villagomez :fan: ''he ran me off the track, regarding Meguetounif'' well not exactly, he was behind Meguetounif and he wasn't where he should've been tbh, good on the FIA not punishing Meguetounif since he was in his right to defend
Nicky91
19-05-2025, 04:18 PM
next race is Monaco
but anyway Sebastian Montoya for sure has a good amount of potential, if he didn't have those problems at the formation lap, he could've had a decent chance of a podium finish maybe
Victor Martins unlucky at the start of the race, similar software issue as Montoya, but then even unluckier at the start, so they had to start it manually, him with 1 lap behind most of the race, until the SC after Villagomez retirement
Nicky91
20-05-2025, 04:18 PM
i support Sebastian Montoya, same way how Zizu roots for Max
tbh i also liked his dad Juan Pablo a lot, whom still looks good btw, very lovely seeing him in the pit box again, and i have to say that he quit too soon in the F1, in my opinion back then he had more potential still
Nicky91
24-05-2025, 04:24 PM
had been watching the F2 monaco quali and the sprint race back
Alex Dunne walking away without punishment after he kinda pushed Villagomez into the wall last corner before start/finish, and Villagomez receiving a grid penalty for causing red flag :skull: while he set no time, can you imagine :skull:
another 3 points for Montoya :dance2: one bonus point thanks to 10 second penalty of Lindblad, solid drive by Montoya keeping up nicely with Verschoor and staying comfortably ahead of Fornaroli, double points for Prema as Gabriele Mini finished 2nd place behind the winner Kush Maini (yes LOL to see Maini winning a sprint )
one other moment, Lindblad's collision with Crawford, 10 second penalty deserving tbh, but Crawford should've retired the car, especially as Verschoor said ''i see smoke coming from Crawford's car''
Nicky91
24-05-2025, 04:28 PM
but you can really see who the duds are in F2 this season
VAR's John Bennett, Trident's Max Esterson, AIX's Cian Shields
Amaury Cordeel also not really impressing me that much, even though he was a last minute replacement so fair enough maybe
Villagomez, Meguetounif are mediocre, but not worse than Bennett, Esterson, Shields
Miyata is one talent who underperforms a lot honestly
that Alex Dunne is gonna be in trouble soon enough i think with his reckless driving skills (lets hope he won't be in F1 soon otherwise they'll be in for something, it never is boring with alex dunne, that is for sure)
Nicky91
26-05-2025, 01:19 PM
Montoya's first podium!
what a chaotic race too, and first time Montoya should be lucky his car didn't start due to software problems in the formation lap, so he avoided getting DNF'd where all the others apart from Fornaroli at front were out, thanks to Alex Dunne
sucks to be Lindblad either speeding in the pit lane throwing away his podium and the points entirely with that 5 second penalty  and i knew he was speeding, you could see that kinda how quickly he got in front of Montoya during that stop
but YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Go Sebas! :cheer:
Nicky91
01-06-2025, 02:13 PM
loved the F2 Barcelona sprint race yesterday
superb drive by Verschoor! and VAR getting their first podium of the year, with Villagomez (from 22nd to 3rd) impressive :D
Nicky91
02-06-2025, 07:44 AM
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOO
Montoya 2nd place in the barcelona feature race, climbing to 9th place in the drivers standings
and Prema double points, with Mini in 10th place :D
Nicky91
15-06-2025, 04:08 PM
tonight Canadian GP
Go Ollie Bearman, from 13th position on the starting grid, just ahead of his teammate Ocon
the calmth of Bearman is what i like a lot about him, 13th is not a bad place to start from i think, could've also been much lower on the grid
Come on Max !!!!

The top three this season is a battle between Mr. Forgettable, Mr. 1D, and Mr. Psychopath.
Basically it's Mr. Men gone wrong.
Nicky91
16-06-2025, 07:27 AM
Bearman 11th, i can live with that, at least Ocon in the points so in 9th
Norris LOL :joker: but to be fair, Piastri just pushed him towards the wall, Norris had nowhere to go, and i knew it, i knew this was gonna happen at some point, if you have two ego's in one team
not even Hakkinen/Coulthard were this competitive towards each other
Verstappen coming 18 points closer to Norris now :D

home race for Red Bull
that's why he had to show restraint in Canada, but Russell trying to get him a penalty point, deliberately breaking suddenly during the safety car moment, and then moaning that Max overtook him under the safety car :joker:
F2 too at Austria, also very exciting, with Richard Verschoor finally peaking, and its never boring with Alex Dunne
also the team radio's in F2 are also so funny many times
one to watch out for btw, Arvid Lindblad, Red Bull want dispensation for him to compete in F1, this 17 yr old is hugely talented
Nicky91
28-06-2025, 06:57 AM
Get In, Leo Fornaroli! he keeps trying to go for his first race win, great pole position
and John Bennett out of everyone grabbing the sprint pole, mess :joker:
Come on Max !!

hoping for a surprise top 10 result for Bortoleto, from poverty to success journeyman story!
Nicky91
30-06-2025, 07:10 AM
GO Richard Verschoor, taking the lead in the F2 drivers championship!
great win in austria :cheer:
also stunning drive from Sebastian Montoya, on the alternative strategy, despite a apparent puncture, still being able to take the lead on softs from Kush Maini, then dropping to 13th place after his stop, and then climbing into the points on supersofts, even to 5th place thanks to a 10 second penalty from Marti
5th in the sprint and 5th in the main race, solid :D
Nicky91
30-06-2025, 07:40 AM
i'm also excited for F1 the Movie, i read good things about it, in the spoiler-free reviews
and the trailer looked stunning as well, but tbh my expectations for sports films are massively high ever since Invictus, however since also Javier Bardem is in this, i am having a good feeling, i like Javier in almost everything, a very diverse acting icon, from No Country for Old Men to Skyfall to Disney's Little Mermaid (Live Action)
also Javier oozes ''Toto Wolff'' vibes kinda in terms of his looks, and he is the APX team principal, wow
Nicky91
06-07-2025, 08:26 AM
Verstapping laughing at Bearman :umm2:
really unnecessary, okay what Ollie did was a rookie error crashing in the pit lane, but Ollie stood up for Max recently against the FIA's actions for giving Max too many penalty points
also 10 place grid penalty for Bearman, despite that, i actually believe in a good result for him at Silverstone, i mean he was 6th fastest in FP3, and in Q2 he even got through to Q3 in 4th place on a set of used tyres, where he only used one set of new tyre, and in Q3 he was the 8th fastest
so yeah with DRS i could see him overtake quite some from 18th position, with one free pass of his teammate Ocon obviously, or if there is rain, everyone will remain closer to one another, and even more chances of a good result i think
as for F2
Montoya second place in the sprint race, GET IN! also quite a stunning move on Maini, out of nowhere basically, where Maini was defending decently quite a lot of laps
also how cute his mom taking pictures of the podium ceremony :D

Bearman from 18 to 11, not bad, also the only rookie driver who finished this race in this heavy rain  respect
Max 5th still decent since he was struggling a lot with downforce, in this rain that wing wasn't great at all
Hulkenberg a podium finish LOL
meanwhile at F2
am pleased about Verschoor's result, still in the lead but not as big a gap as it was before anymore
Montoya 5th in the main race, am happy about that, another points finish! to keep this strong streak going

here is that F1 thread
gonna be an exciting last race, a 3 way title decider
either Max or Norris or Piastri
and here i am, hoping for more points for Ollie Bearman, btw Toyota are back in F1, with Haas yes, they are included in the team name as TGR-Haas as of 2026 :D
