30 police turned up to arrest him for burning pages from the Koran. Sounds balanced.

If you watch the Video
it was done in Public.
That makes it a Crime.
A bloke grassed him up to the Police,
infact.
He is shown in the video
It would be seen as an Attack on Muslims,
of course.

He claims to have done it in solidarity to him.

What do you get for burning a bible in public? The same that you'd get for burning a copy of The Very Hungry Caterpillar.... Nothing. This reminds me of the whole circus that surrounded a kid throwing a Koran on the floor... A panel of Muslims with a nodding copper saying how awful it was and baying for a kid to be punished in some way.
A different story in London. (Man attacks with a large knife)

Did he burn that Book
to get the fella next door,
with glasses on,
to get arrested?
Was this all a set up?

I doubt it very much, but if it was. It worked.

Maybe there should be a National Burn A Koran Day or something.

Judge Margaret McCormack: “The Quran is a sacred book to Muslims and treating it as
you did is going to cause extreme distress. This is a tolerant country, but we just do not
tolerate this behaviour.”
So the judge would also say this if it had been a Bible?

They should just be honest and say that burning the quran is akin to flying a kite during a thunderstorm.

BREAKING: Moussa Kadri, the knife-wielding Muslim who repeatedly assaulted Hamit Koskun as he burned the quran outside the Turkish Consulate, has
been spared jail.
Despite pleading guilty to assault and being in possession of a 'bladed article', Kadri was handed a suspended sentence of just 20 weeks. No jail time. The
judge said he had “lost his temper".
Hamit, meanwhile, is living in hiding, having been warned by the police that there are several credible threats to his life.
This sentence will do nothing to dispel the suspicion that Britain has a two-tier criminal justice system. Had a knife-wielding white male pleaded guilty to
attacking a Muslim for breaching a Christian blasphemy code, you can bet your bottom dollar he would have gone to prison.

Lost his temper.....What a joke...he left the scene, went home then came out with a large knife.

It happened outside the Turkish embassy, and he shouted "**** Islam, it's a religion of terrorism."
I don't agree with prosecuting people for burning books, although any society that cheers that on, has it's own issues.
The location and nature of this incident, makes it understandable that the fuzz turned up in numbers.
Or... according to our enlightened forum, they were pandering to the rag heads.
Take your pick.

Doesn't excuse violence toward him.

Only if they were there to protect him from the people who'd want to demonstrate how peaceful islam is.

I didn't say it did. I was explaining why 30 police officers might have turned up to an incident outside the Turkish embassy.

I personally don't agree with his behaviour, as I personally think that it's just not really necessary to destroy a Book just to deliberately upset a group of people. It makes him a douchebag is my point.
However, should he really be arrested/questioned by police for behaving like a prick? Any first world country would say no.
I suppose the counter point to my argument is are we actually living in a first world country? Because unfortunately things like this keep making me question it.

Fair, given his words and location 30 cops may well have been needed to protect him from a violent mob.

Tweet and delete set fire to the hotels "for all I care" = 31 month sentence.
Attack someone with a knife for offending Islam and tell them "I'm going to kill you" = no prison time.
Two-tier Britain.
Black belt barrister has his say.
