Why should Zelensky be bullied and threatened.
Has Ukraine not had all that already from Putin and Russia.

Or are you happy to see Russia get rewarded for invading another Nation
If you are ,well that's up to you.

No way should Putin get anything from this invasion.
The person and Nation who ARE the victim here is ONLY Zelensky and Ukraine

Yet you support this unhinged madman who is equally verbally and now even on agreed deals between the 2 Countries, bullying and threatening Zelensky and Ukraine along with Putin.

As for J D Vance, what an absolutely horrendous creep he is.

What Trump, Vance and therefore the USA are now doing is despicable.
It's absolutely sickening that only people who crawl to Trump are deemed worthy of anything from him.
The USA in this already agreed deal, have shown they cannot be trusted.

This paranoid and unhinged President Trump is probably more dangerous to the World along with other despots like Putin.

Russia should not be aided to get ANYTHING at all from this shocking invasion of Ukraine.
Which it seems Trump is doing just exactly that.
Aiding Putin's aims NOT UKRAINE's rights.
How anyone can support that is really unbelievable.

Trump's view of Ukraine and what the USA should be entitled to for aid is not a surprise. The USA never come out of any war in the red. They always make a profit. Remember, we've not had a word from Putin since this latest charade kicked off. Trump is Putin's mouthpiece and biggest supporter.

The office of PresIdent of the USA used to have some gravitas to the office. Trump's turned it into a trailer park circus. Again.

The USA with this unhinged madman there for the next just under 4 years.
Really cannot be trusted or relied on in my view.
You cannot just keep giving in to someone who doesn't want to hear what people really think.
All he wants is to state what he intends to do then only hear from everyone else, yes sir.

No contradiction, no disagreements and no negativity.
You cannot or shouldn't deal with or rely on characters like that.

However you've a better knowledge than myself on conflicts plus relationships between Nations..
So I hope you are right.

They have a clear intent to permanently manipulate US democracy; it won't be Trump (because he's getting old) but I think the chances of anyone coming in to replace him who isn't cut from the same cloth get slimmer by the day - and he's been in less than two months. In four years? I just don't see it.

America's "diplomacy" with Russia involves granting Russia a boatload of their war goals. Of course it's likely to stop the war? WW2 could have been stopped over night... all we had to do was surrender. Are you saying we should have done that, Herr Parmy?

Donald Trump has made history with record-breaking low approval ratings despite his recent jibes over Volodymyr Zelensky's poll numbers.

A majority of Americans disapprove of Mr Trump just weeks into his chaotic return to the White House. Polling from Gallup taken between February 3 and 16 show 51 per cent of Americans disprove of him compared to 45 per cent who approve.

I'm actually surprised by that. That "this" would be the issue, especially given that it's Trump here so not sure what some were expecting there.

Partisanship has become more American Wrestling meets social media echo chamber at the national level, so I don't think it's because of his lack of "decorum". The voices we're exposed to now simply just "go there" with no qualms and Americans themselves in general are less than apologetic when it comes to sharing of views.

I think it's partly that Democrats and Republicans will echo their political friends outside of the US in their contacts regarding international affairs. Trump is seen as "the Right", and so far it would seem Russia is closer to Trump politically than not just based on the fact he's put no substance or distance there to imply otherwise. They might as well be allies because that's how our politics has always locked itself down, ie each side never disses their friends, etc... it's very lockstep.

I think it's fair so many here are done with giving Ukraine inordinate amounts of money with no end in plain view, but the begging of mineral contracts would seem to keep us in the war, at least financially, as a way to do business and that runs counter to his other claims of getting us out.. so personally I think it's a mixture of not distancing ourselves from Russia, which effectively assists them, and seemingly trying to make deals with Ukraine that will likely keep us embedded in war.

Best case scenario (unlikely) he is concerned about upsetting Putin so that he keeps a hold of his card. It's fair to question his motives here because he is currently very hostile to so many of the entities that at least in the past would've been considered allies...

He can't fly until he's asked to by Trump.
He's already told Trump in a letter that he'll sign the deal at Trump's convenience.

The ball is now in Trump's court.
Zelensky cannot just turn up at the White house without permission to.

Trump however should never have stopped ANYTHING pre agreed with Ukraine and allies.

They're all over the place. More and more convinced one of the main things they're doing is rigging stock trades. They know when markets are going to fall and rise... Because it's their decisions making it happen. And they keep flip-flopping in a way that has markets shooting up and down almost every day.

So Zelensky has to NOW bow down to 2 dictators and just give them whatever they want ?

Trump is as rotten from the core as Putin is.
Even virtually blackmailing Zelensky and Ukraine into doing so.

Crikey where we would all have been had that been the attitude in World war 2.
Just roll over and give the dictators and dangerous leader/s all they DEMANDED.
Unbelievable.

Just exactly what is this peace plan you say he has.
Does anyone really know what goes on in the mind of that more like dangerous madman.

What IS the peace deal .
He hasn't either said he will stop Russia.
Stop Russia from what, from taking illegally the land of Ukraine they've illegally invaded.
Or are they going to get some, most or all of that.
Do you know?

What is this peace deal no one knows any detail of.
That Zelensky has to blindly sign a form that on the surface only benefits Trump's USA
Without knowing what is expected from Trump that Ukraine will have to SURRENDER to Russia.

Would you sign a document with so many unanswered points as to your future and security.
Because I for sure would not.

However if you can list Trump's deal that no one else has any idea of.
Then I'll eagerly read it.

I'm not even sure he has one that will in effect reward Ukraine for all it's efforts while it will reward Putin and Russia.

That's NOT a deal, that's more cowardice.

I hope Europe generally and Ukraine in particular, tell Trump and Vance to go **** themselves.

the problem is that even if there is a "friendly" president elected next time, no-one will ever trust their long term future to america again. That is irreversible now

Agreed, the damage to the US as a country is insane - isolationism, as a concept, has historically led countries into literal dark ages. And that was BEFORE global politics became instantaneous.

America's economy and military is so strong that the short term effect on other nations is massive, but if those other nations are still working cooperatively while the US "opts out", it will not take long at all for the US to be replaced as the world's #1 - both economically and, in turn, military. They can easily be leapfrogged in both by a united Europe and BRICS. They could legitimately hit the #3 spot, their current actions are absolute madness for the world AND for the US on its own.

Vladimir Putin looked and sounded belligerent during his reported visit to the Kursk region yesterday.

For the first time in years, he was dressed in military fatigues, and he ordered his troops to “completely destroy the enemy” in the region.

As everyone is looking for signs of whether he will accept the offer of a ceasefire in Ukraine, this was hardly the look and words of someone keen to send a message of peace to Kyiv.

Hmm. I'd add to that that he also doesn't look very well. Which is an extra worry really, not great when desperate people with less to lose hold power.
