Im thinking the reason behind them keeping the same house with the move is that they only get a certain budget for both BB and CBB hence why they're almost identical. Hopefully come October they will have a healthier budget to play with and can make the garden bigger and redesign the house
Does anyone else think this is just carryover from the old deal?

It's like the BB House has been Ikeaed. Just packed up and moved 15 minutes down the road.
For the classic BB civilian Houses it was always exciting to see what redesign they had achieved within the same floorspace (CBB was always just tinkering with the previous civilian House). Each series was instantly recognisable by its room layout and colour scheme, just as much as they were by the diary room chairs.

I feel like they're trying to make the house instantly recognisable but it's just boring to see when we are used to it changing every year.

…yeah, the house was all a huge part of the anticipation…it really built the excitement to get glimpses as they were released…I think that we just have to get ourselves into the mindset that this is a new vibe BB in many ways and although it may not fit in perfectly to what we loved…it’s so much better than no BB at all, which we’ve had for many years…
But the house is different this year, they have taken away the upstairs bitching area for a start and have stated it has a more early BB vibe to its layout.

Hope so, though it seems from the garden that they are keeping the garish colour scheme.

I don't even mind if cbb theme follows the whole paint drop theme from last series which it's clear we are getting even though it's a new house. For me it's all about what's the eviction set like we need stairs and long walks. It seems we might not get it after all which is a shame!

Yeah I’m sad they don’t mix up the layout

I think it's too early to say, we have only seen garden pics, and yes it's a similar vibe to the last Civilian series but that's what happened a lot with Celeb bb it used the same sort of theme. I guess a lot of furniture will be reused, the house was nice for the last civilian to be fair although I did get sick off the colour drip aspect. So in short let's see what the next Civilian version of the house will look like

maybe there are changes in the house idk
they deffo need to do Decision Makers (i mean that new role was quite fun here tbh) like that there can also be more tactical gameplay
i'd say a secondary area for games like a Panic Room, next to the already Gameroom, Game Area would also provide for bigger games (i also like this in my nation, adds to the excitement of the show)
and maybe individual prize pots, which they can also spend at tactical weapons like extra votes, immunity pins, automatic nomination pins to hand out etc
But the house is different this year, they have taken away the upstairs bitching area for a start and have stated it has a more early BB vibe to its layout.
That will be an improvement, I think. I always thought of it as the "hen house". A safe place for HMs to run to when they want to gossip or lay their eggs. It can drag things out.

Glad there is no upstairs room. It's way too easy

In hindsight most of the changes in layouts in the early years were changes for the sake of it - but they had the money then. C4 were paying £60m a year - nowadays ITV are probably paying less than £10m a year and a cheaper construction process for the house would be part of that. That doesn't mean no changes can be made at all - you just have to make each tweak count. Big Brother Canada showed too how you can make the same space feel quite different from year to year in a way that BBUSA has never quite managed.
I do think the main living area worked well enough, though changing the sofas completely rather than just the colour would have made it feel much different. A real shame though to lose the mezzanine - that worked so well in both series and was often the source of any drama.
The bedroom/bathroom and diary room area though didn't work - the bedroom and bathroom were far too big and the endless corridors to the diary room just felt awkward, so I hope they tweak that.

I’ve yet to start watching the latest series as I haven’t had chance yet. I am extremely disappointed in the house photos I’ve seen so far. I’ve seen some clips from the show on Instagram as well. It’s just more or less copy and paste each year with some extremely minor tweaks. Big Brother’s “hey we’re friends!” first person personality just grates on me. Will and AJ have become stale. I’d rather have BB than no BB but it makes me sad what ITV have turned this show into. Re-watches from C4 on YouTube is my source of nostalgia now for the UK franchise.
