Up to episode 6 now. It’s really good. If anyone likes a murder mystery, I recommend watching.

Finally got round to starting this, just one episode in but I really like it, I love that actress who plays Cordelia

I loved her in orange is the New Black, I did get a bit fed up of Orange is the New Black and stopped watching a few seasons in but she was the best part about it

The Residence" will not have a Season 2 because Netflix canceled the show after its first season in 2025. The show, starring Uzo Aduba, was a White House-set murder mystery that debuted in March 2025. Despite decent viewership and generally positive reviews, it did not meet Netflix's internal metrics for renewal.
Netflix puzzle me sometimes. This show performed well and got good reviews but they cancel it, meanwhile so many poorer shows remain. :mad:
…I don’t know how strong the ratings were, I have to say that when I watched it/when it came out, it didn’t feel as though there was a buzz surrounding it of chatting and having a big fan base…I loved it…:love:..Cordelia Cupp is a great detective character and I generally love that chilled detective series feel of Sunday Evening murders back in the day…:laugh:…Murder She Wrote, Columbo and Residence had shades of Miss Marple as well…
…there is a few of that type of series atm, though…Poker Face, Man on the Inside, Only Murders in the Building, No Good Deed, High Potential…probably more, I don’t know …but I guess it’s a thing of a genre/type that only the strongest rating one or two will survive because it’s such a fast moving thing in series popularity…

…:laugh:…the killer was Ben in the kitchen and the dining room with the poison potato…(…forget about them mushrooms…)…and the victim obviously was…:fan:…
..the problem is that we’re on overload a bit with very similar series so they really have to be stand out to be more than just a chilled weekend viewing…I did like Residence and I loved Cordelia Cupp as a character but I can also see why it was cancelled…there are a lot of series that I start and then just leave by the side because we’re getting so used to those instant grab type storylines that are a lot more in the riveting aisle…

…ahhhhh, same…I didn’t finish it either…:laugh:…and I think that’s the problem and why some shows are being cancelled because they just saunter along and there is too much competition from other streaming sites for sites to continue with those kind of series…I feel as though the story has to go somewhere and for many it doesn’t really…I was just thinking actually…(off topic…)…how a Cluedo type murder game could be adapted for the forum with a victim and 6 classic Cluedo suspects but did the murder take place in SD or Chat and Games or BB section or etc…I’m going to think about that, actually…

Me neither, I do like it but they're more stand alone episodes really that don't pull you back in. I probably will finish eventually though
…I can also understand why so many series are cancelled …some of the stand alone episode ones/especially quirky detective type ones are quite nostalgic and throw back to Murder She Wrote and Columbo and Monk etc…?…and that kind of connects you in an immediate thing but they just don’t have the substance that is there with the more layered and complex stories and characters …they for me, create a much bigger intrigue…?..
…it’s difficult when it’s a brand new series because we don’t have any measure yet of whether they’ll continue…they’re kind of just being tried out…?…but when I look at a series to potentially watch, I always look to make sure that the story has either completed or that it’s still continuing…it’s very annoying to become engrossed through a few seasons only to realise the series was axed and it’ll leave you hanging there…

…Messiah is one that comes to mind atm…I liked that a lot, actually…it was a great and different concept and very layered characters…I felt very deflated to realise that one season was just going to be left there…

Oh yeah, that was so annoying. I really liked that show but they just built up the mystery and then it was gone :fist:
