View Full Version : Very quiet start
If they didn't have the game show, what would we have learnt from the first show?
There are no really loud characters, there is no drama near the kitchen. The hm interactions have been meaningless drivel
I like the look of most of the cast, but they aren't exactly entertaining me at the moment

…I think one of the things for me is that inherently I don’t like ‘manufactured’…as the one and only true BB fans if you like, we obviously prefer organic in how the house bonds and clashes etc develop…but with how short the house stay is, especially in CBB…inevitably some ‘stirring up’ is going to happen fairly soon, I would say and not so quiet events are a’coming….
i would struggle picking someone to evict in 2 days time

The first few days in the house are always a bit fake and polite because they're all trying to make a good impression on each other

…I mean, as a viewer and voter…obviously we’ll see who the options are and then I’m just going to have to vote to evict the one with the least highlights and impact, I guess…as it stands atm…
…it’ll be interesting to see if/whether Mickey’s cleaning if his teeth in the kitchen sink has any impact on nominations…/or the killer nomination…

Yep that's just human interaction really, people are agreeable and amiable until they get to know each other. It was always best when OG main series started off this way... I can see Ammi's point though, about how it doesn't generate the same classic viewing with shorter stays.
The REALLY long series mid-original-run (the ones that went for like 3 months lol) were fascinating specifically because you got the see the "polite early phase", the "high-octane mid phase" and then the war-weary slog of the last few weeks. It was great :flutter:.

…I mean, the first one was the shortest so it obviously has that history and foundation of being very short…but it was initially a charity raising thing, whereas now there are huge fees involved as well as career thought in profile etc…

He would have been nominated anyway. He's a very easy pick.
But I'm hoping he stays, he a has a lot of potential as a housemate. He could be even better than Brackie :joker:

Yeah, unfortunately I don't think a lot of people these days (not the newer viewers they're trying to pull in anyway) have the attention span and patience for that true social experiment style anymore (social media side effect of instant gratification partly I suppose and the way the more scripted "Reality" shows took over)

It's day one. We still haven't got the shopping task yet.
I imagine that could be today.
I hope they let things happen naturally and don't mess with it too much.

That is actually for some reason really gross though, I reckon I'd rather see someone pissing in the kitchen sink than cleaning teeth there. Preferably neither, obviously.

Launch night hasn't been worth watching since the Ch4 era to be honest - both civilian and celeb, the line-up is known in advance of them going in so no suspense in "seeing who's there" and they cover any important "entry stuff" on the first highlights show on night 2. It used to be such an event but pointless now that even with civilian series everyone knows who is who weeks before it starts .
Like the people who watch Eurovision entries on YouTube/the qualifier shows before the night. Why bother even watching on the day! The whole fun is having no idea what you're about to see...

…it’s interesting, I think…that the youngest housemate…(…is JoJo the youngest…?…)…is the person who tried to address it with him directly and in a very non confrontational/accusing type way…well done her…

I find the current batch of early-20-somethings like this in general, I work with a couple as does my wife, they tend to be quite self-assured and direct but in a pleasant/amiable way. It does make for great employees to be fair - they'll say it like it is without hesitating but in a non-confrontational way which is a skillset us older generations could learn from. Not me, obviously, but other people.

…yeah absolutely I agree with you, that we can learn a lot from younger generations as they can learn from us, you know…and I’m fortunate enough to have always felt that great balance of young people that media news doesn’t show so often…and it’s lovely to see that you’re seeming it too through your job also……

I'm hoping she's going for an "I'm nothing like the character I'm known for" narrative, like when Tina Malone went in trying to prove she was nothing like Mimi Maguire but then was ... ... ... an awful lot like Mimi Maguire :joker:.
Can't wait for Bianca to start mouthing off :flutter:

i think Bianca mouthing off would be particularly funny given she is supposed to be in to serenity and meditation

…it would be funny if she had her ‘meditation package’ prize and transformed into Bianca as it was happening or straight away after…
It was quietly drama today. I don't think it's the real fireworks yet, though...

Tbf it's only been a couple of episodes.
Even in the golden Ch4 years it would take at least about 4 episodes before anything really interesting happened.

The one thing the early 20's can learn from the rest of us in the late 20's and above is how to be funny.

True but even after two days, Mickey doesn't like JoJo, and JoJo has it in for Mickey.
I think people will soon pick on boring Trisha, and that guy who does the racing commentary, I think he's gonna dislike a lot of people.

Chris? Everyone seems to love him right now
trish should be evicted for her name dropping alone
So, since tuesday, we have learnt that Michael may be wearing a wig, Jack possibly looks like the joker and Trisha met Nelson Mandela
It's riveting :joker:

I think that the Show's over-focus on a select few Housemates isn't helping the series be more entertaining.
Most Shows are better with a bigger cast with a lot of screentime between them, scripted or Reality TV.

…plus Mickey sleeps on the sofa and Patsy’s broccoli is questionable…do keep up bots, you’re missing all the action and drama…
i felt last nights eviction show was the perfect time to reel in new viewers and it quite honestly was dire
