Not my thoughts or words, found on Reddit, but I offer it up for discussion...
"When I was watching the episode in real time, I thought it felt very staged, so I rewatched it and studied everybody's reactions, and I entirely believe that huge parts of it was staged. We know ITV BB have form for staging scenes, particularly tasks. They did it recently in the civilian series. The beauty salon task in the bathroom was staged, as confirmed by Emma.
During the scene where Mickey got aggressive, they were all trying to stifle a smile, even after he got aggressive. None of them were acting how somebody would genuinely act if somebody was legitimately aggressive. If it was legitimate, Daley would be trying to defuse it, as he's the only one that Mickey respects, yet he was nowhere to be seen, and everybody in the live thread was asking why he wasn't in the episode. Well, I'll tell you why he wasn't. He's the only one in there without acting, presenting or reality tv experience. He would have given the game away.
It's entirely implausible that Chris, who merely a few days earlier was stumbling over his words whilst meekly telling Mickey that he can't say that to Jojo, would just decide to stare him down out of nowhere.
Mickey was even smiling when Chris was staring him down and then suddenly flipped. How coincidental that he had a conversation with Jojo where she decided to play psychologist and ask him what prompted it, and he said "it was like a button being pressed and I couldn't explain to you why, even if I tried to". That conversation was set up to sell the storyline to us and try make it believable.
Even the scene with Angellica, Patsy and Donna looked staged. When it was just Angellica and Donna, they were given a cue to start talking. They had just been standing there saying nothing. After the cue, Donna just says out of left field "yeah, I have no respect, no respect. Anyway, I'm leaving", as Patsy approached. If this was a real scenario, Angellica would be like; "wait, what? What do you mean you're leaving? Where did this come from?", but she didn't have this reaction. Subsequently, when Angellica said to Patsy, "what about me?", she was trying not to laugh. Mere hours earlier, Angellica was showering Mickey with hugs and was delighted he was still there.
When Mickey left, Trish was totally unbothered, despite being the only one to have deep conversations with him and say she was taking him under her wing because he's fragile. She just went "I told you". That's not an organic reaction to hearing for the first time that he has left. I've no doubt that they had all already said their goodbyes to him before he was called into the diary room a second time.
I even think Chris' over-intimacy towards Jojo is scripted as a means to generate controversy and discussion. When she leaned across him earlier with the sword, he moved towards her like he was going to kiss her. It looked totally staged. If you look at Chris' exes, Jojo is the opposite of his type. He also hasn't ever shown interest in women years younger than him. He's only ever dated women his own age. Chris is 32 years old. Jojo is 21- and she's a lesbian.
The show is insulting the viewers' intelligence with this crap. Mickey wanted out, and his agents wanted him out after that Bella accusation (which they responded to with a pre-prepared statement within minutes of him leaving) and they put on a little school play production to facilitate it. It suited BB, because they could be seen to be getting rid of him, hence regain some credibility after the huge backlash they generated last week for not removing him after his behaviour towards Jojo.
It was like watching an episode of Love Island. So many of the scenes on Love Island are scripted, as confirmed by former contestants.
Even last year on CBB, the scene between Marissa and Ekin was scripted.
Everybody said the episode was really strange and disjointed, and it's always like this when they stage large chunks of it, as they can't give the game away.
People need to stop taking the show so seriously, because most of what we see on the ITV version isn't real, especially the celeb version."
I certainly think there was some producer direction. Remember in the last civilian series when there was a fake intervention type thing staged, it felt very much like that.
Also, the celeb version is much more likely to be staged than the civilian one.

I definitely think that BB has had scripted moments for years at this point.
And Mickey definitely wanted out of the Show, so it wouldn't surprise me if his removal was staged.

The thing is, they might have told them to air things out but they definitely didn't tell them to be abusive or predatory.
…hmmmm, I don’t think it was scripted but it is entirely possible as well, obviously…what I do think though…?…is that it may have seemed a bit off/disjointed/whatever because it was edited for the highlights and what we saw wasn’t a full version…did that edited version mean that complete accuracy was questionable…?….hmmmmmmm, maybe…I honestly am beginning to dislike this speed dating type version of BB so much…

Maybe it wasn't, we can't say for sure, but I do think that you badly underestimate how much of a shithead most people in TV can actually be.
Mickey honestly didn't seemed as pissed as his words would indicate. My tell was I didn't feel one bit uncomfortable during that exchange and usually anything more than awkward is going to trigger some kind of feeling. It just seemed too chaotic and random, but even the HMs looked too damn calm. I've seen middle school fights look more serious than that.
I think Mickey was trying to get out and I don't think he cared at all if he stayed, whether BB intended him to go out or not.
Chris' reaction also: "Fair!"...

The thing is, and we know this, that left to their own devices it takes a good 2 weeks for the cracks in the fake personas to start to show and to start seeing the real person beneath.
3 weeks for a season is pointless and will always just be pantomime I guess.

If production was paying him the most, I would imagine they would expect something for that fee. So makes sense they don't care how they get it, just that it makes the efforts of casting him worth it. His removal is all over our tabloids here with the name of the show. Don't see it mentioned here often, if at all?
Edit: And that's not me thinking this isn't his typical behavior. It obviously is if they cast him anyway and he constantly admits it.
i honestly don't think it was the result of the editing. Bare in mind this was a catchup episode covering more time, and it was all just nonsense
Did anyone think, wow, that was a good episode last night? Given someone was removed from the house for bad behaviour we should have been all over it. Also, he was ejected for the comment to the girl, which, honestly, is ridiculous. If she hasn't heard much worse in the pub on a Friday night, i would be very surprised

..yeah, there’s that for sure…I don’t feel deflated about the whole of BB, I still feel hopeful for the civilian series…(…even though that could be longer as well…)…but atm I’m feeling that maybe the celebrity series has run its course …I’m still very uncertain about the ‘Great Conspiracy’ though in that, that would never stay contained…(…as is happening now…)…and would just kill the show and give it an earlier end…it’s self harming on a grand scale, surely…

….but surely that’s not the point…when BB decide to give an official warning which they did for Mickey’s previous offending/upsetting words…then they’ve already set a no tolerance with that particular housemate of next offence and out…I’m not sure that they could have done anything else…

you cant throw someone off the show for a comment someone is free to make in a public setting. That's my point

This is where i look to the fundamentals of the show. If someone gives me the side eye, i nominate them, if someone says something i don't like, i nominate them.
This is why we end up with nom reasons like he looks like the joker or he wears too much aftershave
I just feel this series is the official end of BB, it's there for all to see

…Mickey didn’t do that, though…because as he’s said himself, anger is one of his struggles so his reaction to a task ‘role play’ was to face down/or face up to Chris…and it would have only taken a split second to have become a physical thing that BB would be uncertain of either Mickey’s unpredictability…I neither like nor dislike Mickey, he obviously had many demons and I wish him well in dealing with those… it more than anything I do believe that he’s probably happier in himself to be out of the house …if there was any BB conspiracy, I think that it was in persuading him to do the show in the first place…I don’t believe that they didn’t know that his understanding of it was very poor in terms of the environment put he would be in and the expectations and rules of the house etc…
The more i think about it the more I believe Chesney was told to ask Michael about immigration and trisha was told to shout islamaphobia during the subsequent discussion. It was all so forced

I doubt it's fully scripted, but yes there are elements that are closer to Love Island etc. than they are to classic BB, which is a shame because obviously peak BB was brilliant, but I fear it's simply had its day.
Sliding closer to the Love Island model was also somewhat inevitable when it moved to ITV and I believe lots of the conversations on here when it was announced suspected it would.
I do really hope they have one last punt at a "simple, unmanipulated, relatively normal people" civvy series before it dies for the 3rd time.

I agree with this tbh, and I also think Patsy was told to ask about the wig.
But, maybe it's just because it's so disjointed and all stitched together out of super short edits that it feels this way... We never get to see context or how things form, just the event itself. Go back to early BB and look at how long the edits were and how much room even just passive reactions were given to breath... Massive difference.

…and it’s also the same production company as Love Island, isn’t it…?…there was always that apprehension about similarities and being to close in vibe to that…/…of the same family…
…the key to old style and classic BB was always 24 hour livefeed …I recall at the time, often thinking…if I only watched the highlight show and no livefeed…?…there would be barely any resemblance of it being the same show…highlighted/edited shows have to consider so much that jars with and mars true reality tv…

A real Livefeed kept them way more honest for sure. It's def a huge part of the reason they have binned it.

We know for a fact that they've at the very least "refilmed" scenes for a long time, definitely towards the end of C5 era, remember when they accidentally showed them filming a "good night everyone!" finale scene one year and then they all got back out of bed and returned to the living area. Lolz.

The BB house isn't a public setting. The producers have a duty of care over the housemates and have to take their concerns seriously, no different to if the comment was made in a work place, it wouldn't be allowed to fly.

Yeah, and we have def seen scenes digitally manipulated (people removed to make it look like a couple was alone, etc). It's been proven here in years past.

The difference with Love Island though is that they do it quite openly, some of it is real some of it is overblown, it works because the relationships themselves (while showmancey, obviously) and friendships that form are somewhat real so it's still watchable. It's the same with all the Netflix reality trash (I say that in a positive way, I love crap like Love Is Blind)... The issue is that BB doesn't have a theme like that, the whole concept is that it's meant to just be people in a house and observing what happens. But ITV bought it specifically because of the success of Love Island and have tried to follow the same model.

Yes and time manipulation - Another one I remember is one year they had some arguments etc. going on I think, while there was a task on - then the task fully ended, all costumes etc had been long returned... Then they showed a conversation supposedly loads later... But in the background you could see another housemate still in the task costume (so that convo had actually been 6+ hours earlier than they were claiming). You can easily manipulate a narrative by moving the timing of some conversations around.
Or reaction shots is another easy one... Someone says something, cut to someone else looking disgusted, yawning, smirking, laughing or whatever... But that cut-away could be from a totally different time.

Oh yeah, they definitely stitch it together from edits that are out of order chronologically in order to construct a narrative, that's 100%.
…one of the big reasons why I don’t think that Mickey leaving was a scripted thing is because Mickey isn’t a reliable fellow conspirator to engineer that with…even in going in, he immediately blurted out that he’d been told to join in with the conga…if they were going to act out such a big conspiracy with any housemate for them to agree to be ejected or whatever and try to make it into a drama…then it wouldn’t have been someone like Mickey who would be most likely to reveal it all straight away and then do they jeopardise their own show and question whether it can continue…I just don’t think that it would make any sense/logic to me at all in this kind of ‘grand scale’ and with a housemate who has such a proven unpredictable character…

…I meant screws up in terms of revealing the ‘conspiracy’ outside of the house straight away and I think that’s not a possibility with Mickey but an almost certainty…for me, if this was going to happen as a conspiracy, it wouldn’t be with Mickey Rourke…

They've barely glanced at each other so it's not a very good set up.
I think BB fans can have quite overactive imaginations with things like this honestly. It's not really in the interests of most of the housemates to go along with this and it would come out quite easily
They've barely glanced at each other so it's not a very good set up.
They've had little moments, but Chris' "friendship" with JoJo has thrown a massive spanner in the works. Chris isn't playing ball with the fake romance bollocks, hence Ella's upset as that was the only thing she had to offer in the house.
They've barely glanced at each other so it's not a very good set up.
But it was wanted to be forced upon us by the shows producers. There is vocal evidence straight from the main man's mouth of this on the forum.
