I hope so. But it was neck and neck between them and the other two

…I’m rooting for them even more now because I read that they’re from Suffolk and not far from where I lived for many years before this home move…they’re neighbours basically…

Caught up last night with this.
Poor Yin and Gaz. That was always going be difficult to come back from being so far behind the pack anyway, but then to get unlucky with getting off the island and then getting a train in the wrong direction. :(

I really like all the teams this year. Usually there’s one I’m not too fond of but all this year are great and they are not just about the race, they all do/see things they want along the way.
….I think that I have to catch up again……I’m spreading my TV watching self very thinly atm and in many different directions…

…once you got away from that though, wow the views were breathtakingly beautiful…….i have a friend who once spent a few months in India and she absolutely loved it….
…I really, really like all of the couples this season……I was willing Tom and Caroline to get to the checkpoint first yesterday, though……just because they’re Suffolk people and live not far from where I did until recent times…

They’re doing really well. I love they’ve gone from 5th to 4th to 3rd to 2nd. They’re only a couple of hours behind 1st so would love to see them climb up again next week.
All the couple are great. The sisters are really relishing the journey. Letitia is such a little gem, I just want to give her a big hug.

…yeah Letitia is gorgeous and she’s holding so much inside, isn’t she…I can’t imagine how shaky she’s felt in having her ‘safe place’ just taken away from her and feeling so helpless …I love how this journey for them all is such soul food that’s so needed…
…Tom struggling to put the hygiene gloves on and then finally doing it because he obviously wasn’t going to give up and think of another task…I mean, we all jumped up and cheered him, didn’t we……

Do any more teams get eliminated? It feels a bit savage to the fifth pair if they were the only ones lol
The brothers and the young couple are my favourites. I find the sisters relationship quite awkward, they really don't seem to like each other that much

I thought this even moreso in the latest ep, their relationship is so strained for no clear reason. Letitia is lovely but Elizabeth is quite catty
I hope Finn and Sioned catch up

…awkward maybe but I don’t think there is any dislike …I mean, all of the couples on there are there because they’re looking to deepen a bond through the experience or maybe even re-connect for some…?…the sisters…(…I think…)…are completely different/opposites almost in personality and in how they’ve processed unfortunate things in their lives and in that processing…?…they’ve also lived in different countries/have no shared friendship groups etc…their gap if you like has widened because that’s progressed in such different life experiences for the last decade or so…so to an extent, they’re almost now like strangers and trying to connect with all of their back story together and I don’t know how much of that back story will have a more warming shared nostalgia ….this is an aspect that I love with the race…it has so many elements of relationship psychology plus it’s a great insight into long distance travel that many don’t get to experience for real…

I get that but we've seen a lot of growth in the others relationships from similar positions of not always understanding each other or having grown apart but a month into the race and the sisters still don't seem that comfortable around each other. And every time it's the same conversation of 'we used to be close but now we're not', 'you need to open up more', 'you went off to Italy' etc etc Elizabeth saying 'our relationship is very surface level' was a really strange thing to say about your sister. Letitia is also supposedly the withdrawn one who lacks confidence but comes across very outgoing and bubbly to me, much more so than Elizabeth

…(…I think, how I see it with them…)…is that their relationship/their circumstance is a bit more layered than any of the others in that they have actually physically been apart for most if not all of their adult lives and that’s quite a more unique thing…I guess the ones I’m thinking of are the brothers who are obviously much older…but they also shared a childhood and then have been part of each others lives through so many stages of their adult lives as well…so their relationship/bond couldn’t in any way feel surface because there’s been that physical close proximity of being part of each others lives…but the sisters don’t have that, have never had any bond as adults so far as we understand…all of their bonding has been as children…so I do think that I understand what she meant by ‘surface’…. because we don’t think and feel the same as dependant children as we do as independent adults….I think also on a by the by…that so much of those competitive type things that siblings go through…(…and they so, so do…)…the sisters to an extent seem to be on the catch up of having that phase now…‘I’m the middle child too/no you’re not, you’re the second child…you don’t get to be the middle child…/…no we’re both middle children…’…it just feels that they’re on a catch up to be able to feel deeper than surface and they’re both so used to being independent of each other as well as being independent adults so that’s another level they find of their ‘place within each others lives’….

Just caught up. So happy for Caroline and Tom. They are doing so well and really relishing the experiences too.
Plus I think this is the first time we’ve had a team go from 5th to 4th to 3rd to 2nd to 1st in succession each leg.
Fin and Sioned :clap1: they're so endearing
Love Brian and Melvyn as well. Every leg they seem so calm just mosying around sightseeing and getting into the local experiences, they never seem to spend much money, always take public transport and yet normally end up being faster than everyone else
Fin and Sioned :clap1: they're so endearing
…Fin and Sioned……they have the smallest budget left but wow, 26 hours made up…that’s immense….
…lovely to see what felt like huge emotional steps with Elizabeth and Letitia as well……
…such an endearing cast this season…

Nah I don’t see her like that. They’re from a small town in wales and India is very overwhelming if you’re not used to it, especially if you’re sensitive to stuff like that. I’m well traveled and even I found it overwhelming at times when I visited.

…I love Caroline and Tom so much……
Oof was not expecting that ending :skull:
….ahhhhhhhh, I couldn’t have called that but so, so happy …Caroline faced things that she had avoided and seeing her so exhilarated was wonderful….…and Elizabeth and Letitia doing so well as well….still anyone’s race really and any would be lovely winners…

Catching up now
…looking forward to the final tomorrow, it’s felt such a quick season but an excellent cast, who it’s been great to follow across the world……
There is usually one duo I am not so keen on, but this year not at all. They've all provided excellent value, even Yin and Gaz in that short space of time, was sad to see them go. I really don't mind any of them winning this year, but I think I'd be most pleased if Caroline & Tom or Fin & Sioned.
I've really come to adore Caroline and her enthusiasm for a life she's only just really living how she wanted. It's been a nice story.

…I love how Yin and Gaz maintained their friendship…how much love they have for each other outside of a romantic shared relationship in the past…that’s such a special thing…and I agree that they’re all so lovely this season that I really would love to see any of them win…I’m a little more cheerleading for Caroline and Tom but only because they’re from the area that I used to live until recently so…well, they’re ex-neighbours of mine…and I love how they’re finding and stretching their independent feet together…Tom because of his health restrictions and Caroline because of her lack of self/confidence in her many, many skills……

Yeeeees so happy for Caroline and Tom. Well deserved.
I loved all teams and they all had beautiful journeys. And 45 minutes between the top 3 is nuts!
…..aaaaghhhhhhh, that was so nail-biting….I’ll spoiler this for Vanessa…
…Caroline and Tom……any of them would have been wonderful winners, I was so rooting for them throughout, though….I have to say that I would have stayed at the Hindu wedding for three days and to heck with the race…how gorgeous was Clinton in rushing off to buy the food provisions for Fin and Sioned…presidential in name/presidential in nature…such a kind soul…..…
What a great finale, so close! Was hoping Finn and Sioned would win and think they would have if they hadn't gone wrong at the very end. Felt sorry for Melvyn and Brian as well because they smashed every leg apart from the penultimate one
I do think the budget was a bit generous though because not one of the teams ever had to worry about it and even Finn and Sioned were able to get taxis at the end despite splashing out the most

A wonderful series. Looking forward to the next one.
…I read a little article this morning regarding the winners and the prize money…
…Tom has said that some will be spent in going backpacking again with his mom, which they both are determined to do…and Caroline has said that she would like to use some to help Tom set up his own business, inspired by their time together in India and the confidence it has given Tom…
