Yeah, he could just coasted on that nonsense with Ella, make a few quid selling the story on the outside, but nope. That's only a good thing.

He's obviously very drawn to JoJo, i don't blame him either, she's so much more fun and interesting than Ella ever could be. Being this mega US star, she doesn't show any arrogance or self importance. Very down to earth girl. Got a lot of time for her.

BB punishments are intentionally broken because it incentivizes HM misadventures so that they can act out and grab camera time afterwards imo. Putting a person thirsty for attention in a bin and telling them to sing is a reward. They're practically gleeful to get into more trouble when they can do it without it being too obviously scripted.
