Obviously Mickey Rourke is the real deal after having 8 professional bouts ( 6 wins and two draws) ..

Tom Hardy looks as though he could really handle himself and he is a Jiujitsu competitor

Lawrence Tierney. Died now but he was a bonafide bad guy. Read up about him!

One of his last most famous roles was in Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs.

Honest answer is even the ones who might have come from a "tough background" are not going to stay "hardmen" once they've made it big in the industry.

Combination of legal implications, softer lifestyle, keeping different company, etc.

Plus for the ones who look huge it's mostly just 'roid glamour muscle . In all seriousness, a lot of the actors who look absolutely jacked are not actually as physically strong as, say, a bloke in his late 20's whose been working a heavy construction job since he was 18. Actors are "gym tough". Generally.

Also I did say this at the time on the tough-guy-Mickey threads: realistically, Chris Hughes would have floored 70+ year old Mickey Rourke even with him being an ex-boxer... and Chris Hughes isn't exactly a tough guy :joker:.

Definitely and Mickey is a very frail looking 70 year old

Could he have reached him from behind Jack?

I'm not even saying Chris wouldn't have been shtting his pants - just that I've seen an awful lot of older chaps who could scrap "in their day" get humbled very, very quickly picking fights with younger lads in the (mistaken) belief that they're still 1) intimidating and 2) physically fit enough to take a punch. I'm not even being flippant... it's just straight up dangerous. Old bodies damage easily; we should all remember that, we'll all have one eventually.

Though he is still very intimidating and it would only take one heavy slap to get Chris’s attention. The last thing boxers lose is their power

Oh come on Zizu, Mickey is frail. You say the last thing boxers lose is their power, sure but he's 70 years old, he's probably at that "last thing" stage

Yeah I suppose so …

Though I would still imagine Mickey to be very intimidation especially with his acting skills

i still maintain that if a trained boxer managed to land a punch, they could do some damage. However, reaction times, thinking time, spacial awareness, even thinking clarity make the possibility pretty slim at 70. Even someone of 50 is pushing it

Sometimes older people are scrappier than young fit people just because they don't give a s*** anymore.
