[At a rally in London, Ontario, on Friday,
the crowd booed as Mark Carney
delivered his core campaign line about
the existential threat Canada faces from its neighbour.]

the libs really don't deserve to be in power after the mess they made, but it looked like they were going to squeak it

you have completely misinterpreted this. The crowd were booing the usa as they have been all over canada.

Also, there is no clear winner yet

The results haven't been announced yet. They are still voting. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c3evxx79q5yo

President Trump really helped the Liberal Party's chances and damaged the Conservatives when he started the trade tariffs and Canada becoming part of the USA stuff. Most Canadians don't want any part of that simply because they have Canadian national identity and not for any policy reason.

Look how the opinion polls have changed recently.

Trump did not help anyone in Canada

He helped Americans

It's from the link you posted - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c78jv246n91o

Opinion polls can be wrong of course. What Poilievre will be hoping is that the Liberal poll lead is soft.

it's going to be a high turnout election, and it will probably be close when its all counted

Trump is now helping the Conservative Poilievre
He has said he does not need Trump's help

Yes James,
that link is not the best
but I had to find something
to get this thread started
As the General Election is off and running.

Really welcome result.
Any voices elected more against unhinged Trump are definitely good to see.

Man , Arista still loves a false narrative to get a thread going.
It was a very satisfying ending to see Pierre Poilievre lose his seat after 20 years. Satisfying because he tried to rally our country by fear mongering and hate. His final speech showed his true nature.
I didn't vote Liberal, I am in one of the held NDP ridings, but I was proud of the speech Mark Carney made at the end of the night. So humble and unifying, and unseen in many other modern politicians.
Elbows Up Canada!!

Not like you to get this so wrong.
He didn't even win his seat never mind be Prime Minister.

i think it's about people for the time. Carney is a very calm, thoughtful man and he may just be whats needed when faced with Trump

Early on, before Trump got involved
Libs were doing bad in the polls.

Of Course, Trump's Truth Social Post
changed the course fast.

Yes
Conservatives in Canada
lost out.
