They’re not as much of a problem than you think. I was a bit like that before we went in February. See one big spider and a few biggish little ones.

You starting with a working hol visa? Or a partner visa (he’s got Australian ties, right?).

That’s what we’re sorting. We have a few avenues to get us out there. Been in touch with a couple of places to talk us through some options.

The cheaper option visa wise to start is probably the working holiday. I think you now get two years automatically with that (and don’t have to do 3 months of farm work to get your 2nd year. No picking mangoes for you on 40 degree heat haha).

Yeah theyve relaxed a few rules. I think there was an age limit on the working holiday visa that’s been lifted too. That will probably be our way in tbh

Yeah it used to be you had to start it by age 30 when I did mine. They upped it to 35 I think.

It’s a good way to start without investing too much. To make sure after a year or so it’s for you, then you can commit further and spend money on the other visas.

Think it’s even higher than that now because when we’ve spoke about it before the I was always over the cut off.

Spiders bother me less. There's roaches that are very large here though, and they like to go flying :spin: I hate roaches... In very warm climates, it's very easy for a lot of things to get into the home, especially if it's a humid climate.

The summer months where we will be going are around 30-35c and their winters get down to about 21c. They get a chill in the morning but as the day goes on it gets warmer.

Perfect weather really.
The spiders weren’t really an issue when we there, didn’t have any in the house at all (which I’m thankful for because I would have died) it was the grasshoppers that were a pain. Had a massive one that took forever to get out.

Company who is helping us with visa got in touch two weeks ago. It’s a very drawn out process.

Next step is them letting us know what our visa options are. The details we’ve sent so far have given us a pretty good springboard, point wise. We both have job offers, potential sponsors, savings etc.

All looking very positive :hee:

Isn't it expensive to live in Australia? , I know some countries pay better than here in the UK though...so I'm guessing the salaries match the cost of living over there ?, or should I say down under lol  .

It looks beautiful in areas in Australia, but I think the bugs & potential poisonous spiders would irritate me too much.

Mmmmm

I think maybe Australia has the most scary

::: Ai overview

Australia is commonly cited as having the most daunting wildlife due to the sheer concentration of highly venomous species, followed closely by countries in Africa known for large, formidable predators.
