I grew up with the Greatest Generation all around me. Sad to think they're almost gone now and that their sacrifice and achievements are all but forgotten. It makes me wonder if I could have shown them what this country has turned into, would they have thought it was worth the fight?

I realise... But after the war Germany was rebuilt for them, companies who'd worked slave labourers to death, starved them, beat them... were built up and continue to thrive today, Audi, Volkeswagen, Krupps, Miele, no one cares about that. Who designed the Nazi's uniforms? Hugo Boss.
Meanwhile our own country was virtually bankrupt, had another 8 years of rationing to face, and only paid off our war debt to the USA in 2006. We may have won the war but we definitely lost the peace.

Yes all true, sadly.
