More than likely, it's because the horrors are being filmed and posted everywhere. I'm sure every person who reads this post has seen the pictures of people being burned alive or with missing limbs, or carrying their dead children, screaming in visceral agony as they cry to god for a miracle, or children sliced in half with their organs falling out, or children scraping the remains of their mothers into plastic carrier bags.

Let's say that's true (it isn't); so Israel knows it's hostages are being held in gaza, and have decided the best way to get them back safely, is not to commit to one of many deals that's been offered, but rather, instead, to massacre every living thing and level every building to the ground? Obviously, I wouldn't expect your professional opinion to inform your personal opinion if you were commenting in one of the ore whimsical threads, but in threads where you comment on issues that involve matters of international law, it's just not believable that there would be no crossover.
