too many banners and flip all to say......

anyone else notice this site is gettinga bit ott with banners and flashy gif avatars? i seem to spend more time scrolling round here than reading lately and pages are taking longer to load. i thought there was a limit on the number of banners people can have? some of them take up 3/4 of a screen and people say one sentence every three or four replies......my poor mousewheel.

Dont have a go at me, sure its all very pretty, but its like a capuccinno thats all froth......

I don't mind banners but when people put like 3 or 4 banners on its i agree a bit ott. and yeah 2 banners are the max i think easy.

theres nothing wrong with that kind of bannerage superstar, straight to the point and a good size. deffo not a cpu killer.

but your not the only one who has noticed that there are loads of them around.

I have turned them off because even though I am on a fast connection broadband it still was taking ages to load some pages and I got fed up.

I like seeing what banners people have, I don't really go in the BB8 section, seeing as there are some very childish people in there, so I really just post in graphics - which seems appropriate.

it just seems a bit much when a cpu hits 100% use in a forum, Ive found a way round it now and ive installed firefox plug in "ad-block" so i can magic away those banners and gumph that slow my old pc down or just get on my tits.
Im building myself a better pc to, just ordered a decent graphics card this morning and fitted a dual core athlon 64 in a new mobo yesterday. thing is older computers really struggle with this site lately, its as bad as ebay.

Go to control panel, and edit profile and you will find an option to turn off signature viewing easypeasy.

Oh lovely so again it is the Mods who are to blame for the demise of the world as we know it!

There are guidelines about the amount of banners etc and I think you will find all of the Mods are within those guidelines
