Nigel Farage MP is there today.

Not the PM
he is in Glasgow.

[The current political race in this former
coal mining heartland of west central Scotland
will decide who represents Hamilton,
Larkhall and Stonehouse in the
Scottish Parliament following the death
of the SNP's Christina McKelvie.

It also has wider significance.]

[Driving around what is now the Hamilton,
Larkhall and Stonehouse constituency,
you would be forgiven for thinking the
2025 contest was a two horse race
between the SNP and Reform UK.]

[That's only because these are the
parties dominating billboard advertising.

This observation takes no account of the
intensive door knocking, direct mailing
and social media campaigning that's been
going on for weeks.]

How anyone in Hamilton can be thinking about voting for Labour or the SNP is mindblowing

Prof Sir John Curtice, an election expert, said Reform was “eating” the
Conservatives for “lunch, breakfast and dinner”.

He pointed out that although Labour’s vote share had declined since the 2021
election, from 33.6 per cent to 31.6 per cent, the SNP’s decline had been far
larger – from 46.2 per cent to 29.4 per cent.

However, he said the result was not good enough for Labour to expect to win
the Holyrood elections next year.

its always the same, the political elites think they are unbeatable until they are not. They never learn.

The other parties need to make big efforts to steal the air from reform or there will be serious repurcussions
