Terrible mess

28 injured

[Ten people have been killed
and dozens more injured after
a former pupil opened fire on
an Austrian school,
in what has been described
as one of the worst mass killings
in the country's history.

Special forces police descended
on BORG Dreierschuetzengasse high school
in the city of Graz shortly
before 10am local time on Tuesday
after reports of gunshots.

The suspect is among the dead
after having killed himself in the toilet
after opening fire on two classrooms
and shooting in circles.]

I wonder if the gunman shot himself, or whether police shot him.

Thanks.

What possesses people to do this? It'd so hard to get your head around.

…just horrendous, those poor families/loved ones of the victims…and they may have known him/spoken to him many times…all of Austria must be stunned and grieving right now, it’s the worst shooting in their modern history and for it to be children…3 days of National mourning has been announced I’m reading…and a one minute National silence tomorrow morning at 10am…and yes arista …apparently the killer left a note ….

…I know that the 9 students who died at the scene were 6 female and 3 male but there is very little information released of the student who died in hospital later…it’s still so difficult to equate Austria with school shooting…

EDIT:…the 10th victim who died later in hospital was female…

Worst nightmare.

Agreed. It’s something I think about every day. Only silver lining is that the shooter is dead and won’t live in ‘infamy’

Horrific. I honestly can't even comprehend situations like this and what drives someone to do something so truly barbaric.

Austria is well inside the top 20 firearm owning countries. Something like 3 in 10 of the population own firearms. I wonder whether they will now lose their rights like the UK did?
