Its because no matter what you say to her she just talks over you so fast you wont get your point across. And no matter what she will go on until she gets her last word in. How can you win against that?

Personally I think Gerry figured out the right way to handle her. He tells her what she truly is ,.,.and tries to not show her viscious comments bother him. It showed when she got so frustrated she threw the water at him in pure anger. Next step is a physical confrontation.
