When my depression and anxiety kick in - I immediately stop listening to all music as I simply can’t stand it … it must be an instinctive reaction as I am never aware at the time …. and it’s usually my wife who notices that I have stopped playing music around the house

Interestingly - t’s always a lovely, uptempo , melodic song that magically pulls me out of the depression … usually a week or two later though when our son left to live in America I fell into a deep depression that lasted nearly 8 months - all that time without music !!!

Otherwise Aphex Twin is something I bask in every now and then. But even then, it tends to be the old classics. I don’t even know if he’s still going/plugging it out. But I do know his record speaks for itself and would probably appeal to people like you. I feel like we’ve talked about this before, years and years back.
