Even came to the window to knock.
I'm shaking.
I just pretended not to be home.
Why are some people like this? It's bloody 1 am.
As if I'm going to open the door at this time!
Barry.

That’s scary. Hope you are ok

That's also happened a few days ago, I didn't open.
I live on my own, no way I'm opening the door at this time.

You ever thought about maybe getting the police involved?
Barry.

They’ll tell her there’s nothing they can do about it
I’d consider getting a dog tbh
Living alone these days is a scary thought

…very scary, Vanessa…..you obviously did the right thing to not open it…I’ve had a similar thing also one time and the police did come but I hadn’t called them…it may even have been something like a delivery and the person thought the delivery address was yours/hence knocking at the window …?…do you have a smart doorbell/would it be an option for you to get one…?…

Thats horrible I would say it was someone who got the address wrong but the fact it happened twice, its not some mad TikTok challenge is it, there is a current one of kids kicking at doors, if it happens again call 999 and explain you live on your own and its happening frequently

Yeah 100% A dog is a huge commitment, especially when you live in a big city as well

It was the idiot neighbor. He apologized, he realized I got scared and he was sorry for that.
At least it wasn't a burglar.

Most people like or even LOVE dogs though
20 million families in the Uk
13 million dogs
This suggests that the vast majority of people are dog lovers

Maybe Vanessa could get one of those gadgets that play the sound of an aggressive dog extremely loudly ??

Most people are heterosexual. Doesn’t mean LGBT people don’t exist. “Majority” isn’t everyone.

She’s just said it was her neighbour. None of that will be necessary.

Having a door camera is worth it for many reasons. I can check at my desk when working if a deliver truck just drove by so I can pull my packages in immediately. We have Wyze that is powered from a light socket. We hang it high to get a good view, but it costs nothing to run monthly and we can access it anywhere.
If I don't know the person, I don't answer the door. It's the same with my phone. Most of our knocks are solicitors (No BBC boogie man in Texas). We're armed so it's not as huge a concern for us as much as other things (car break ins). We had a neighbor on another street however who had someone coming to her door who was drugged out but also had some mental problems. They weren't doing anything wrong, just saying crazy things.

I don’t think that kind of approach is healthy. Guns, as I’m sure you can appreciate, are deadly in the wrong hands. And there are too many of those hands roaming about the U.S.

…ahhhh, I’m glad that you know who it was and the reason for it all…but it was hugely scary for you, a female living alone and someone knocking at her window at 1am was completely thoughtless…that was only ever going to scare you as it did…I mean, if you had phoned the police and if they came and hauled him off to face questioning and then spend a night in their care etc…for instance…he would maybe have understood the seriousness of his thoughtlessness when he was on the other side of that scare, which is where he placed you…anyway, no more leak..?…no more scary neighbour …a ring or blink doorbell is a good plan though if you’re able to get one fitted…?..you’d obviously been able to see who it was…mind you, it’s still not advisable to open the door to idiot neighbours at 1am either ….
