At least those programmes you hate have regular slots and they don't shift and postpone some of the most popular programmes to accommodate them. Tennis is pretty niche, yet we have blanket coverage for a fortnight on BBC1 and BBC2. I guarantee more people watch Strictly than watch Wimbledon.

I don't know how you'd compare them, you brought it up.

The illustration talks about streaming but what are the figures for those who watch Strictly on catch up? And what about the soaps? They have a many loyal fans but the soaps are regularly disrupted for sporting events when they could stick the sport on another channel.

Tennis gets more viewers than the Soaps tbf.

Starting tomorrow morning at 10am the British and Irish Lions ( when and why the name change ? ) It’s being shown on Sky Sports

At the same time 10am the F1 sprint race is on Sky Sports F1 channel plus 401
