View Full Version : Big Brother 2025 celebrating 25 years…
https://preview.redd.it/bbuk-2025-this-autumn-v0-ros2kgzohlve1.jpeg
..celebrating the 25 year BB anniversary in 2025 with the longest new edition so far of 7 weeks…what would you like to see to tribute and blend old school and new school…?…iconic tasks/games of the past…?…the after shows to have many iconic housemate guests from years gone by…?…the return of an iconic Diary Room chair…?…Davina to host one show…?…
…what would be a great return of the old school that you would like to see happen this year…?…

A return to just 10 housemates would be nice.
It would also be pretty cool to get a replica of the BB1 house - but a 2025 version- so basically the same layout but updated as if the same house had been used every since the original. That won't happen though as they'll just stick with the flatpack house used in CBB.

Ooh imagine, back to basics. Chickens, vegetable garden etc.
Hopefully they let them have things to pass the time like table tennis or whatever

We need a Housemate like Citizen Science.

…Marjorie……
…it would though be nice if they added some touches of the past to the new series…maybe recreating one of the older Diary Rooms/chair…as well as reprising some iconic tasks like the box task…

ITV haven't acknowledged the 25th anniversary and they're touting "the game has changed" -- I'd be surprised if we get any hint of old school BB.

every time bb uk says the game has changed i keep wondering if bb uk will change its style and format into a big brother canada style and format where they have tasks like bb uk comps like bb au the 2020 to 2024 era eviction votes and nominations like bb usa

Yeah and in the trailer it clearly says BB3. As in they regard this as the third series. They aren't acknowledging the ones from other channels.

oh wow
that reminds me of doctor who how they acknowledge the disney plus verison as season 1 and 2 and not really season 14 and 15 from the doctor who 2005 bbc verison
when bb au returned in 2020 they continued the number

BBUK would die a quick death if they switched to a Survivor competition style format like what the US and formerly Canada does. It would be too much of a change from what people are used to. Look what happened to the revamped AU format - failed miserably that the original network is bringing it back with the original format.
Also, ITV have announced its usual 6 day week schedule, which doesn't align with the US Survivor-y format.

I missed that detail in the trailer. It's so sad. Smh ITV... smh.

i think the bb uk super fans would have meltdowns galore if they ever did change there style and format into the bb usa style
reminds me of the time how from 2020 to 2023 the bb au super fans had meltdowns non stop about the changes which led to low ratings plus the whining and complaining which then how got bb au axed the 2nd time
but then i guess the most puzzling piece of the puzzle is if both bb au and bb uk got high ratings and high praises like no tommorrow then why did bb au get axed in 2014 and bb uk get canned in 2018

BBAU originally cited controversy and audience erosion. BBUK had audience erosion. Don't forget the US is massive and has many more people watching TV. Also, US TV networks milk their IP to absolute death instead of stopping while they're ahead or seeing signs of decline.
Sometimes just a break is all that's needed. But switching to a strategic format just cancels out the entire premise of Big Brother anyway.

its funny how you mention how the strategic format aka bb chess style would just cancel out the entire premise of big brother because 25 years ago back in season 1 when bb usa 1st started and did the old school style they had low ratings and really bad reviews but then when season 2 came along cbs broke the bb traditions and changed its entire format and style of big brother into what i would call it the chess style and since then bb usa had good reviews and high ratings
althought over the years bb usa had its up and down ratings and at the same time had its good and or bad reviews but during all the ups and downs bb usa is still was going strong and never got axed

and my nation started it all
speaking of, one of my nation's debut BB series contestants ''Hugging Bear'' Ruud Benard making his reality tv comeback this year! in a game show called Alleskunner VIPS (Celebrity Allrounders), good on him anyway for giving more reality shows a go rather than just moaning all the time about shows in recent years
