Mystic Mock Now that I've actually looked at the thread properly. I saw that "hat" (a very British version of Aladdin's carpet), but it was one of the first ones I'd found by typing in "worst hat"...
(It also kind of looks like the Katamari hats/headwear)
My second option, but just didn't seem to be stick out enough to me, (no pun intended):
https://i.postimg.cc/YqnJ4k0N/dcd8f904230ca808ef5d1c88688878c9.jpg
She looks like Naomi Campbell a bit, but no idea who it is wearing it. Apparently it's made of PVC and made London Fashion Week (https://www.glamour.com/story/the-5-craziest-fashion-things-8).
Worst hat was what I typed in the search engine.
And that penis looking hat is pretty out there.:joker:

ROUND 3
Good afternoon my willing participants in this fresh torture I’ve put upon you.
You were tasked with two challenges again to impress the Task Master. The first being to find the best word and why it is the best word.
My particular favourite word is ‘globule’ as it sounds funny to say and is great to chuck into a random insult to somebody to confuse them.
But, luckily the Task Master isn’t judging me. They are judging you. Let’s see what you all opted for…
Benjamin
08-08-2025, 02:03 PM
MARU
My best word is "COCKWOMBLE". Not only is it fun to say, but it's useful as an insult. It will confuse your enemies as they won't see it coming (no pun intended) and they'll stay confused trying to determine the full essence of "cockwomble". Maybe that's why it ends in womble, which means "to wamble".
Benjamin
08-08-2025, 02:04 PM
MOCK
Supercalifragilisticexpilalidocious
1. It's from Mary Poppins, which is a beloved Movie.
2. I can say it.
3. It's a super long word that the people of Wales would be proud of.
4. It's a really catchy song that I can't stop singing once I hear it
Benjamin
08-08-2025, 02:04 PM
ANNIE
GOBBLEDYGOOK
its such a fun word to say and the meaning is literal to how its spelt....unintelligable nonsense and that is why it is the best word
Benjamin
08-08-2025, 02:05 PM
NIAMH
NO
It's short, it's to the point, it's easy to spell, it says everything that needs to be said in one loud syllable, it's freedom, it's assertiveness, it's don't ****** with me. No is a complete sentence.
Benjamin
08-08-2025, 02:05 PM
KATE
My choice for the best word is....
QUINTESSENTIAL
(adj.) representing the most perfect or typical example of a quality; classic.
Literally fits the definition of best word. Plus it sounds very cute.
Benjamin
08-08-2025, 02:06 PM
So how did The Task Master rate your words?
Benjamin
08-08-2025, 02:07 PM
MARU
2 points. Not overly keen with mixing a beloved children's series with the male sex pump. It sounds like something that alleged "comedian" James Acaster might say. Madame Cholet would never.
Benjamin
08-08-2025, 02:08 PM
MOCK
4 points - ahh the memories of that delightful film of yesteryear and all the beautiful songs, plus an excellent Corgi toy car. It’s amazing that one of the singers of the song, based on this word, and from the 1964 film is still with us today!
Benjamin
08-08-2025, 02:08 PM
ANNIE
3 points - good, an American word and one that sounds like it means and has its origins in the noise Turkeys make!
Benjamin
08-08-2025, 02:09 PM
NIAMH
1 point - no
KATE
5 points - a beautiful word that can be traced back to Aristotle in ancient Greece and has been in our own lexicon for around 600 years. It’s an elegant and infinately useful word.
Kate!

Desert Island
Next up you had your first team challenge of the series. In your teams you had to come up with a team name and then between you decide on 10 items to take to a desert island.
Was The Task Master impressed with your lifelines?
Benjamin
08-08-2025, 02:13 PM
First up we had Annie and Mock:
TEAM 1
Team Name - Double Trouble
Inflatable Flamingo
Why: For transportation, shade, and emotional support. Also doubles as our island throne.
Waterproof Karaoke Machine
Why: For belting power ballads when we are sad, rock tunes when we are happy and party anthems at our night time dance parties.
Set of Wigs (Variety Pack)
Why: To reinvent ourselves daily and trick ourselves into thinking were not all alone on the island.
An Inflatable Bar
Why: We know the TaskMaster loves a big old blow up bar....maybe he'll be unable to stay away and will come rescue us.
Glow-in-the-Dark Body Paint
Why: For body art, SOS messages, and terrifying nocturnal self-expression.
Life-Size Cardboard Cutout of The Rock
Why: As a mentor, friend, protector and plus, great for shade
A Book Titled “How to Train Seagulls and Fish to do your Dirty Work"
Why: Well firstly we hope someone has written such a book that will come in useful at times such as this. Being stranded on a desert island sounds exhausting so if the fish can catch themselves and then the seagulls cook them for us and look for coconuts, it will be a big help. Then when we are rescued we can train seagulls to do our dirty work at home too ....happy days
Berserk Manga - Because it's a really good series that I personally would never get tired of reading. And I would recommend anyone that likes Dark Fantasy to read.
Acoustic Guitar - Because the Guitar is an awesome instrument, and I would hope to finally learn how to play it.
Sci-Fi Now Magazine - Because I do like my Sci-Fi stuff, and I have a lot of nostalgia towards reading the latest issues of Sci-Fi Now, and getting up to date news on what was coming out within the genre.
Kate!
08-08-2025, 02:13 PM
I definitely know now who the task master is.
Benjamin
08-08-2025, 02:15 PM
Next up is Kate, Maru and Niamh.
TEAM 2
Team name: The Master Taskers
1. Sleeping bags - for use at varying times, for comfort, warmth and shade.
2. A tent - for use at varying times, for comfort, warmth and shade also.
3. A Karaoke machine with an endless supply of batteries - To entertain ourselves and pass time.
4. Dutch Oven (or whatever it is called in the UK) - because one can't have a reality TV-like experience on an island in style without a basic oven to have most of your plot advancing discussions around. (Most discussions will begin and end with food).
5. Medical Kit - Because who wants to die on the first week. That would be embarrassing.
6. Solar Powered Lamp - Could be used for emergencies but also for night time reading if someone brings reading materials.
7. A Fishing Rod - a must, surely for sustenance
8. Potatoes to ‘chit’ - to plant for a hardy, reliable and nutritious veg to accompany our seafood dinners.
9. Pillows - a rested head can overcome any obstacle the day might throw at you.
10. Supply of matches - to light fires. To cook, to keep warm, to keep wild animals away so we don't end up as dinner. Also to boil water before we drink it.
Benjamin
08-08-2025, 02:16 PM

the Task Master decided the bonus point name goes to…
Double Trouble
:oh:
Benjamin
08-08-2025, 02:17 PM
And here’s how they ranked your survival kit out of 5…
5 points - Double Trouble
It wasnt going too well until i saw the Life size cardboard Rock and that really did float my illegal migrant boat. A guitar is a good thing to have - just look at how it made "Training day" at Wernham Hogg go much better. Nice book addition. Every desert Island needs an inflatable bar as that is a given - who wants to go about their day without a morning pint?. No idea about a Beserk Mango or what it would taste like. Wigs are ideal for sex role play where one person could be Richard and one could be Judy. Phwooooaaaaar. I note this pair do like to blow a lot of things.
4 points - The Master Taskers
This was a more practical go at things with the basics covered like a tent, pillows, rod for fish and medical kit. I stalled however at the use of a Dutch oven - no one wants a practical joke where someone farts under the covers of a bed and then pulls the blanket over the head of another person, trapping the gas. This act is likened to the cooking pot of the same name, which traps heat - disgusting. You could also live on potatoes so good choice of the basics. A lamp is good but no book? Overall a good Bear Grills stab at this task.
Benjamin

18 points - Maru
16 points - Kate

ROUND 4
Task 1 - Most awkward thing you could bring to a wedding, and why it’s the most awkward thing.

Hahaha, pre-ordering for Christmas?
Yup. It'll be conveniently soft-announced when we're rescued by the US Coast Guard and it shows up on the news. Right about the time when Kate is about to do something relatively noticeable.
Nothing attracts Americans to remote destinations faster than tacky commercialism.

ROUND 4 - Results
Good evening contestants. Hope you’ve all had a nice weekend.
This round you were tasked with your first timed task of the season. We’ll take a look at how you all did shortly.
But first, you had to impress the Task Master with your most awkward thing to bring to a wedding. But, how awkward were they?
Let’s see what you all opted for…

I think that this could be awkward for everyone attending tbh. Especially parents that would be taking their children to the Wedding lol.

It's very embarrassing and when opened would cause scandalised reactions. Imagine your mums/aunts/sisters faces. I'd pretend I was serious about thinking it was a great lovely gift, which would be very awkward indeed. Hehe.

MARU
A famous Youtube lawyer that specializes in divorce cases involving murder and jilted lovers. He would come with a lot of bad legal advice, of a course, and a selfie stick to let his social media fans and his probation officer know he is doing community service. And then when given enough alcohol (their main social requirement), the sexual humor and overwhelming degeneracy starts to come out. Every toast will involve the wedding night in detail with phallic references or worse... JD Vance and the lonely couch is brought up numerous times.

ANNIE
A framed photo of the bride or grooms ex. The photo will be from a professional shoot, in formal wear looking hot. Wrapped lovingly in wedding gift paper....the card would read, "I thought they still should be part of your big day after everything you've shared"
Why it's awkward:
It's an ex
It creates immediate discomfort for everyone within a 10-foot radius.
Guests will spend the rest of the reception wondering if it's a joke, a mistake, or emotional sabotage.

For some people, this fits within their family humor and dynamic so would be OK funny enough.. they're something you would see a bachelorette party more though. But have seen older women keep these around... they come out when their friends are over and they want to party... so depends on if they're a shenanigans-friendly family or not.

Maru - Whilst bringing an extra person who is uninvited will be a little awkward - him or her walking about self-involved in their phone wont look too out of place with the Gen Z crowd. With most marriages ending in divorce the lawyer may come in handy.

NiamhI know the dead body would not require food or drinks but it would need a seat and weddings have tight seating arrangements. It would be a conversation starter however and may be better to talk to than Aunty Val going on about the "Genocide in Palestine" and her menopause medication.

Kate - What a charming carafe, ideal for future dinner parties and a great conversation piece. Glassware is always such a useful wedding gift. The narrow, curved neck will allow red wine to fully breathe. Ok so the Mother-in-law may choke on it.
5 points
Annie - Yes that would be awkward. "I thought they still should be part of your big day after everything you've shared." now that would put the cat amongst the magpies. This would be great for creating a festering resentment that would last for years and come up in every argument going forward. What a nasty evil person you are, well done!
Niamh's reminds me of that culture that digs up their dead bodies and brings them to celebrations... "our relative from the past is here to join us"

For the main task, I set you a timed challenge comprising of two parts.
Spot the difference.
There were differences (I never said how many) and you needed to find as many as you could. For any differences you missed, one minute was added to your time.
https://i.ibb.co/N5vX39R/IMG-7451.jpg
https://i.ibb.co/BMBNG5V/IMG-7466.jpg
Baked Beans
I also asked how many baked beans are in this photo? 1 minute was added to your time for every five beans you were out by (so if you were out by 23 beans, 4 minutes would be added to your overall time).

My daughter is thankfully too young to understand what was happening when we lost our girl in Oct, but that was the beginning of her love of dogs. Only 11 years and we're still devastated. She would've lived several years longer but developed a very rapid growing cancer. She was living very well before that and there weren't many signs until the last week or so. It's a blessing because we avoided putting her through medical which would've been hell (for her). But yeah, it had to happen pretty much immediately once we got to the vet to say Good bye. Wish we could've at least had gotten her home at least and called for someone.
I'm sorry to hear about your loss. A lot of loved ones around me have lost people and pets of recent. Just seems to be that kind of time.

Speaking of photos, I took the time to print out my entries in the horsey contest in 5"x5" and will be trimming to ship off when I ship out artworks/stickers to friends... just something a little rainbow to pin on fridge or wall (we have those kind of friends)
https://i.postimg.cc/130cDmTt/74100.jpg
(They printed well and look brighter/correctly exposed in person, my phone makes it look dark for some reason)
Not bad.:wavey:

I'm so tempted to send as my date "An romantic protest through the fields democracy in Washington DC" because it's already late and I know if I don't do this now, I'm likely not going to get it done on time. I am not feeling romantic :joker:

ROUND 5 - Results
Evening all. Apologies this is later than I first said.
This round you were tasked with finding the best pointy object. You were also asked to describe the 1st date you’d take the Task Master on using no more than 150 words and 4 pictures.
First up, let’s see your best pointy things…

I have chosen Bricks Trident from that infamous fight scene in Anchorman. Easily the best and coolest weapon in that news channel royal rumble

It looks incredibly badass in design.
Plus it looks like it could be a weapon out of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and that is always a good thing in my book.
And the pointy sections have the color blue on them, which is one of the best colors alongside black and red imo.
It's just sheer badass and cool, I will repeat that again lol.
You could also use it to eat some Ice Cream, I should know as I've done it.

I thought about giving you a cactus or a sword for the best pointy thing. Then I found this… this little guy is the King of Pointy. Every single spike is a tiny pointy thing of justice. And with his crown, he’s not just pointy - he’s regal. He rules the Kingdom of Pointy Things. He is also sooo cute
The hedgehog’s spikes? They're for self-defence. His crown? That's self-confidence. Together they are a lethal combination.
This is a pointy thing with real royal attitude!

I picked Stalactites cos they are amazing. Mother Nature is fantastically artistic. Stunning to look at. Very pointy! They are not easy to see in real life as they are located deep within caves.

I have selected "high heels" because who doesn't appreciate the feeling that majesty can bring while also being able to reach the highest objects in the land (or at least in your cabinet).

Firstly I'd collect you at your door at 1pm in a chauffeured limo. Then it'd be off to an ice cream tasting session at a hotel, in a private room. You'd get to create your own recipe and have it made by a chef for you to take home. Then it'd be down to the bar for cocktails and nibbles galore and a DJ playing all your favourite tunes. Finally it'd be back to your room (just you) with a luxury canopy bed to enjoy a great sleep. Limo would return you home in the morning after breakfast which I'd pre order for you, to your taste, either cooked or continental. I'd leave you my number on a red napkin.
A reminder of your day/evening.

A trip to an adult arcade
Basically it has access to booze, an eatery and also a place for dancing. So it's fully featured with a bit of everything
https://i.postimg.cc/pXKtyrv6/99eb8b911c8b1012ff43642121cd0529.jpg
Our date at this wonderful arcade would be filled with friendly competition, as me & you enjoy classic games like air hockey, racing simulators, Skeeball (the best) and whatever catches our eye. This creates a relaxed atmosphere for getting to know each other while crafting brand new memories and winning small prizes together. We can spend a few hours with a good beverage and chatting as well getting to know each other and if we and when we feel inclined, hitting the dance floor until the late hours

Our first date begins on a crisp Saturday morning in Edinburgh. We meet at a cosy café for a hearty Scottish breakfast (fuel is essential for what lies ahead).
Then, a quick stroll to an antique shop filled with mysterious treasures — you proudly identify the oldest golf club in the display while I pretend not to Google it.
https://c8.alamy.com/comp/H9D74J/antiquities-shop-interior-the-vintage-store-sells-various-antiques-H9D74J.jpg
Next stop: a round of crazy golf, because nothing says “romance” like fiercely competing over who can putt through a loop-the-loop in the fewest strokes.
https://www.youneedtovisit.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/IMG_8118-1-1024x768.jpg
We finish with front-row seats at a Rangers match - you in your scarf, me in earplugs (purely for atmosphere).

As the final whistle blows, I present you with a small antique hip flask… filled with Scottish Whisky. Classy.

I bought us tickets to go see the Antiques Roadshow tour

I got my good friend Ronald to rustle us up some BBQ Quarter Pounder with Cheeses for the journey

After the show, I've booked us a VIP table at the Farmers Dog, where we will be joined by Jeremy himself
https://i0.wp.com/5thingstodotoday.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/image-33.png?ssl=1
Kaleb is going to sneak us into the exclusive Farmers Clubhouse after dinner for a night cap, it's where they keep all the best Whiskys
https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQB8ji_MtTqQPPSXDL5_vsPlwsQPrrOm yKG2g&s
Jeremy will then drop us back home in his Lamborghini tractor (can't give you a picture of that because I'm only allowed 4 pictures but close your eyes and picture it in you mind)

I was thinking about taking the Task Master to somewhere unique, somewhere where they feel really special afterwards for receiving such a unique experience with someone as wunderbar as me sen.
https://oddviser.com/photo/place/1600/331.jpg
I say, I say.:pipe:
Trolltunga, Norway has beautiful scenery.
https://cdn.theculturetrip.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/shutterstock_477397402.jpg
And it gives us a chance to get to know each other a little more intimately, and have fun along the way with experiencing Norwegian culture and scenery.
As they say in Norwegian "det spiller ingen rolle hvor sakte du går så lenge du ikke stopper," which means in English "it doesn't matter how slowly you go as long as you don't stop."
And as I say in my native language "beau" which means beautiful in English.

The Task Master has said “it was very hard to dish out votes in these 2 rounds and everyone had very good and unique entries so I did find it hard. I would have given them all 5s for pointy things if I could!”

Mock - Well Norway is a favourite place of mine from a scenic perspective so that appeals and I am a sucker for a wise saying too. Not too keen on getting on a plane tho.
AND
Kate - thoughtful effort overall but I would not like a limo as people would think I am a hen party and that hotel room looks like it was decorated by Katy Price and Harvey
