pushed out and three trade envoys lose roles

[Keir Starmer has fired a warning shot
to rebellious Labour MPs and moved
to reassert his grip on his party by removing
the whip from four backbenchers for
repeatedly breaching discipline.

Labour MPs Rachael Maskell,
Neil Duncan-Jordan, Brian Leishman and Chris Hinchliff
were told they had lost the party whip
on Wednesday afternoon for repeatedly rebelling
against the government.

A Labour source told the Guardian the whip
was being removed from “persistent rebels”,
while a further three Labour MPs were stripped
of their government trade envoy roles.

The surprise move, which came after
Downing Street pledged to mend relations
with the Labour backbenches after being
forced to U-turn over controversial welfare cuts,
triggered fury in sections of the parliamentary party.]

He has a big enough majority to dump the rebel ringleaders. Will it stop future rebellions?

So there is going to be a new Labour party and he does this now....its inexplicable ...MPs should be able to vote with their conscience on such matters

Yes,
He's silly not to fit them in.

It can be done over evening events

Too busy taking a private jet here there and everywhere

He should have taken the time to get his back benchers onside, might have worked for him

There was tweet with Ian Dale
asking Rachael Maskell
she told him, she did know what a knobhead was?

That tweet was deleted

[What does knobhead mean in British slang?
A fool, idiot]

There you go, Rachael
you are a Fool.

This morning, Rachael Maskell
was on BBC1 AM

[Ms Maskell said: 'I think the learning from
this is that there's got to be more listening
and that's got to be reciprocated'.

'I don't see myself as a ringleader,' she said.

'I joined with other colleagues who had similar
concerns about this legislation.

'You know, we ultimately do believe that
cutting money from some of the poorest
in our society is not what the
Labor Government should be doing.

'We should be ensuring those people are taken
out of poverty, have the support that they need.']

Well, Labour (leadership) clearly hasn't been positing their decisions with "does this help the working class" for a very long time...

And that's how Labour lost the working class vote? Because they didn't like how supportive Corbyn was?

Tell that to people working paycheck to paycheck  they're the ones being forgotten across the political board.

people working paycheck to paycheck have the same opportunities as everyone else. The concept of a working class died 60 or more years ago
