One of my mates in NZ sent me a photo yesterday saying a cucumber over there now is $8NZD (Around £3.55)!

UK wise, I went to get a can of coke from a cafe the other day and they wanted £2.20 for it. Decided water would be better and cheaper, and that was £2.80 (for a small bottle). Was a big nope from me.

Stamps are ridiculous, they've gone up over inflation almost more than any other commodity I think. Second class are still quite affordable though

I also bought some international stamps the other day and they were £3.70! Just as much to send a letter to France as the US which seems a bit silly

Coke will always get hammered due to the Sugar Tax.

Yeah water and soft drink prices are quite ridiculous. Used to be if someone wasn't drinking in a pub they could have a coke or lime and soda for hardly anything but a lot of places charge almost as much as a pint now

The commodification of water is also quite outrageous. It must cost pennies to produce originally and the vendors must pay hardly anything for it but then they charge a fortune

Yeah, but it was a can. I expect that for a small bottle.

Especially when you go to places like Tenerife where bottled water is literally so cheap. It’s nuts when water costs so much here.

For one can that's admittedly really high.

We are hammered here in every way, they are squeezing us until the pips squeak
