Brits have been fined an astonishing £30million in just a year and a half for accidentally ferrying illegal immigrants across the channel in their vehicles, the Daily Mail can reveal.

Travellers have been slapped with thousands of pounds in fines under an obscure and highly controversial scheme designed to crack down on the waves of illegal migrants sneaking into the country.

Not fined for allowing 100s to land everyday in plain sight

They were fined for not doing their jobs properly. Their vehicles and trailers need to be checked. It’s their job.

I’m completely fine with people being punished for not doing their jobs. And idiots not checking their vehicles. Completely fine with it.

If you’re thick enough to cross a border without checking your own vehicle in 2025, you’re not innocent, you’re a liability. This isn’t Butlins, love, it’s international travel during a migration crisis. You don’t get to play dumb and then cry when the fine lands

I asked you what do you say to the government? They are pretty thick, thousands given to France, taxing their own residents to the hilt to pay for people smugglers, and they they wonder why people have just downed tools and stopped working and then you have some people defend it, now that is the very definition of thick

Btw its good to see that you are finally admitting there is a migration crisis, at least the penny has finally dropped

Oh please, spare me the outrage. You’re ranting about a government wasting money while defending people too lazy to check their own vehicle, make it make sense. Yes, the government’s a shambles. Yes, Border Force is useless. But none of that magically absolves people of basic common sense. If everyone’s thick, politicians and drivers, maybe stop pretending one lot are helpless victims and the others are evil masterminds. That’s the real definition of thick

Never said there wasn’t? I’m just not a racist about it.

When will Starmer start passing through laws to deal with real criminals?

He always seems to be going for either petty criminals or people's freedom and privacy.

He isn't pleasing really anybody that wanted him to beat Sunak in the last election.
