There seems to be a massive rise in the popularity of communism in the younger generation.

It is after all going to be theirs when some of us are all gone.

Would it work better than what we have now, especially once all the old cronies are gone.

I don’t believe so no.

I do think there needs to be some kind of reform (not that kind!!) on Capitalism but I don’t believe Communism is the answer to a successful (and happy and relatively free) nation.

However happy to hear otherwise as I do admit my knowledge on this subject is low.

Interesting topic.

Like most ideas in Politics, it would probably come with some good stuff and some bad stuff to it.

It's a boring answer I know.

politics always goes through cycles. Communism was far more prevalent in the UK in the 60's than it is now. I don't believe any political party has longevity about them these days if they remain democratic

The default answer would no, not without a good argument in support of it.

It's worked so well for the people of China, Cuba, The Soviet Union... Oh no, scrap that last one.

The Communist Party tried for a hundred years to be relevant in this country, even disrupting the war effort in WW2, and they're no further forward now than they were then. It's not what this country is all about.

Hmmm... They'd certainly like to think they did.

Yes. They did, Yugoslavia didn't work.

Yugoslavia fell apart when Tito died, just like everyone said it would.

Everyone is born a communist. Ask a child if a homeless person should have a house, if a sick person should be given medicine, and whether poor people should be given work and money.

Capitalism beats it out of us. It's clear from reading the replies in here that no one really understands what communism actually is, and I'm not a communist for the record. it is a far better way to work a society, than continuing the capitalism that has seen your streets and town centres decimated, that killed an estimated 300k British people with austerity between 2010-19, and that will remove your healthcare after farage is elected.

We live under the most oppressive and aggressive version of capitalism since the early 20th century, and people will still vote for more of the same and worse every election, rather than just trying something different for a 5 year term.
