[A former priest accused of abusing
members of a "cult-like" church group
he led has been found guilty of 17 counts
of indecent assault against nine women.
Chris Brain, 68, was head of the
Nine O'Clock Service (NOS),
an influential evangelical movement based
in Sheffield in the 1980s and 90s.
Brain, of Wilmslow, in Cheshire,
was convicted of the charges following
a trial at Inner London Crown Court.
He was found not guilty of another
15 charges of indecent assault,
while jurors are continuing to deliberate
on a further four counts of indecent
assault and one charge of rape.
Wearing a black suit and black shirt,
Brain showed no emotion as the jury
foreman delivered the verdicts.
The jury are expected to return to court
on Thursday to continue their deliberations
on the remaining counts.
During the trial, prosecutor Tim Clark KC said some
of the women had been sexually abused
after being recruited to a so-called
"homebase team" charged with looking
after Brain and his family.
He told the court the group became known
among NOS members as the "Lycra lovelies"
or the "Lycra nuns" after witnesses reported
seeing the defendant surrounded by
attractive women in lingerie at his home.]

I’m sure there’ll now be protests and mass violence outside any and all churches because of this no?

The migrant wasn't at the hotel, either though. He was being held in custody.

There aren't hundreds of young priests hanging around town centres are there, or did I miss something, also there was a second assault inside the hotel

The 32-year-old has been charged with two counts of common assault, four counts of assault by beating and one count of sexual assault on a man.
The three-star establishment has been at the centre of a series of anti-migrant protests held outside state-funded accommodation for asylum seekers.

We need to normalise being ashamed of tarring entire demographics with the same brush because of the actions of a few again.

I think you're ignoring a huge amount of context - whether intentionally or not I am not sure - that separate the two.
Yes, there is some rhetoric around preists and pedophilia, but usually these kind of statements are used in defence toward a religious person linking pedophilia with homosexuality - usually in the context of "have you seen the stats for priests and sexual abuse?" Groups of people don't protest outside churches against all priests that exist because of the actions of a few.
Protesting at large outside a residence housing brown people asking them to be ejected from the country to 'protect are kids' because two (at the time one) people in that group are sexual predators is verrrrrrrry different.

they are not protesting about brown people. They are protesting about immigrants that have arrived here illegally being housed in hotels at the tax payers expense. They are protesting because it has actually decreased the living standards of the sick and elderly in this country that have a right to be here. What's difficult to understand about that?

Precisely, they are also protesting about a hundred plus young men or in the case of Bournemouth 300 plus young men just being landed into an area with nothing to do and nowhere to go apart from sit around in groups in towns, groups of men of any colour are intimidating to walk past, they are also sick of being told there is no money for services, that they will have to work until they are 70 and all that energy prices will increase again, and they can look forward to more tax rises in the Autumn, if the government could look after the tax payer as well as they do people who arrive unvetted on boats I doubt there would be as much anger

You just need to look at the protesters beautiful handmade signs to see it’s very much about ‘safety for women and children’, it’s about them “being close to schools” it’s about “protect are kids” which is where the issue is - that they’re framing all living there are a risk to children and women because a couple of them are sickos.
back to the original story .....
George Carey, shortly before his appointment as Archbishop of Canterbury, told Brain he would like to see a Nine O'Clock Service "in every town and city in Britain", according to the 1995 documentary.
By 1991, the Diocese of Sheffield had fast-tracked Brain's route to the priesthood, allowing him to become ordained after just two years, instead of the usual four.

the simple fact is there are many multiples of reasons why these illegal immigrants are not wanted and not simply because they are brown

Please provide evidence all the residents in the hotel are a danger to women and children. Actual evidence, on each person individually. As you look so suspiciously on me suggesting it's a few that ruin it for the rest, you evidently have intel I don't, so if you could provide that and then I'll concede that you're not discriminating based on skin colour.
Thanks so much, I look forward to receiving the evidence.

I can't believe that I'm about to say this, as it's not a great endorsement by any means.
But the fact that the article is calling them “attractive women” makes me relieved that he didn't actually go for children.
Now we just need to hear about Priests not having a predator problem at all.
Coming back to the story, the good news is he will be sent down
You're quite right on both counts. I got distracted.
Yes, great news he will be sent down but why has it taken so LONG to get to this place, like concerns and complaints were raised decades ago. Horrific for all involved. I hope all the women involved are around to see justice be done.
