This thread is for complaining about printers. I have a good printer. But I also have/have had a lot of bad printers. Show us your horrible nozzle checks and shitty printouts so we can cry together.

…I don’t have a printer, I don’t find the need to print anything tbh…I did have one but we often clashed and never really gelled… so when we moved house, we didn’t invite it to move with us…hmmmm, did we hate each other…?…no, we just had different life goals…

I'm having that issue with my label printer right now. It's showing up in the list. It even says it's connected to Bluetooth. But it says it can't connect because a very specific service that isn't running on my machine, allegedly... but it is running...

It might be my antivirus. I haven't figured it out yet but I'm going to test it on another machine tomorrow. I can technically still use it with a 10 ft USB cable, but still...

It's a very janky solution given it's on a high shelf and it has to drop its cable down to my PC very Rapunzel style and I have to walk through that to go back and forth for other things. sigh

Just pretend you're being paid to be here and you're at a protest and someone just gave you a big sign that said "HP printers bad". Make scary but fun paper jam sounds and jolting movements when the printer lobbyists walk by. You're going to wiggle that little sign and be as obnoxious as humanly possible without getting too arrested. You may or may not have taken a printer and throw it down some stairs to prove some random point, but in this age you'll only get an asspat and a PR bond from a chatty judge, so it's actually fine.

Enjoy your free holiday after you get paid big anti-printer bucks. I hear it's the Vegans upset again about something. Probably some animal jello they rely on too heavily for their "Instant Ink" program... probably to mass produce yet another version of Black.

Are Printer, Pen, and Art Inks Vegan?

Manufacturers are beginning to take note of the demand for vegan-friendly ink options.

Several brands now advertise their inks as being free from animal-derived ingredients, while others offer specific vegan-friendly ranges.

In many cases, these vegan inks perform just as well as their non-vegan counterparts, meaning you won’t have to compromise on quality when you choose to go cruelty-free. You need only look for a label that says “vegan” or “cruelty-free.”

Not ready to go searching? Papermate, Parker, Uni-Ball, Sakura Micron, and Zebra make vegan ink pens, while Blackstone, Royal Talens, and Faber-Castell make vegan-friendly fountain pen ink.

…I did also once have a label printer which the girlies gifted to me one birthday because of my organisational tendencies…(…I sometimes channel my Monica tendencies…)…I loved it so much, I labelled everything…even my children were labelled each day…I felt a real connection and thought maybe this would be a ‘forever thing’…?…that with Mr Ammi, there would be three of us in this marriage…but then I realised how controlling the label printer was becoming and I needed to re-connect with my pre-label self and life…./…ruthless…

I have an HP ink-jet with an ink plan that gives you 15 pages free s month.

Trouble is I tried to use after a period of non-use and the cartridges didn't work, so I had to get the support to send me new cartridges.

I should have got a laser printer instead.

So very true.

Inkjet printers require a material liquid sacrifice more than occasionally to stay happy. Neglect this and they not only start criticizing the user on a personal level, but they take it out on them by breaking in other unrelated ways as well. A deep cleansing might correct its behavior but admittedly it's quicker and more efficient to chuck it into a landfill at that point.

You should set something very explicit for the "print finished" sound on your PC.

It gets to a point though even that a new cartridge won't fix it (or it may take several) and it's offering ink to the Devil in hopes to avoid another shopping trip to buy yet another needy robot child.

I usually cut vinyl for my actual labeling labels of random objects and persons now. Fancier looking and don't have to worry about any paper jams

The label printer is a thermal one mainly used for shipping labels... because I would rather own another printer over having to take regular soul sucking trips to the US Post Office. Though I have printed some artwork on them for fun and put them in a book for child to scribble on. They come out fun and very 80s-90s looking.

Tbh the only printers worth a damn are those in offices and schools, the big ones. Otherwise, you may as well just buy a £50 one rather than a £200.
