[CBS News, saying
this morning's court-authorised
search of John Bolton's
home relates, at least in part,
to a classified documents investigation.
As we've been reporting Bolton has previously
been accused of mishandling classified information
in his 2020 book - though there is no suggestion
that today's search relates to this.

Bolton has not commented on the
FBI's investigation, and a source tells CBS
he hasn't been charged with anything at this time.]

This does smell a bit, I must admit

John Bolton has some history in DC and he's only a little bit power trippy. But my impression of him has always been he's not to be crossed and had some potential to be unhinged when wronged. So maybe he got involved in something that ticked off the wrong people and that's why now he is being searched. It would be very Federal Govt of them to go after people it perceives as a "threat to national security".

If you really disliked our foreign policy in the past, he's played a big part in our policy across several decades now... he's said some very controversial things, also. I don't find him to be trustworthy but show me a politician or national-level official who is known for their trustworthiness...
