You get bots like Google etc. that visit most pages on a site so they can be added to a search engine index. They are usually responsible, and site owners can tell who it is.

I like how 50% of the issues on this site literally don't impact me. By the time I come online, the jannies have been courteous enough to sanitize this holy grail of intellectual stimulation for my innocent American eyes. Also, while y'all are fast asleep, I get to soak up all that precious bandwidth by my lonesome. Probably the only thing being processed through the server besides my moonspeak are chron jobs and Mock awkwardly answering posts with banter/commentary alongside me. All while self-treating his insomnia by tackling some anime adventure game on his Switch to the side.
