To help keep very young children safer.
[Communities across Scotland are to
benefit from a new £100,000 fund to tackle
disruptive seagull populations.
SNP minister Jim Fairlie announced
the move ahead of a special summit
in Inverness aimed at addressing the
impact of urban gulls.]

[It triggers the bird's natural survival instincts,
causing them to fly away. Following a sustained
and continuous presence of
the moving laser beam, 24 hours a
day seven days a week,
a previously infested area becomes free
of birds as their behaviour adapts to the
presence of a perceived threat.]

People need to stop feeding them for a start (the gulls not their kids). Same for pigeons.
