Violent Antifa criminals have laid siege to the ICE detention center in Portland, Oregon, for over 100 days. (Oct 1st)

Violent Antifa criminals have laid siege to the ICE detention center in Portland, Oregon, for over 100 days.
Every night the encampment of wackos — some dressed as unicorns or chickens — blast loud music, engage in anti-government chants over loudspeakers and megaphones, and when they violently clash with law enforcement officers, it reverberates around the neighborhood.
Since the protest started on June 2, neighbor Cloud Elvengrail has barely slept. Assaulted and bullied by the Antifa goons, she describes the area as a “war zone” and “terrifying.”
On paper, she’s exactly the type of person the mob claims to stand up for: a disabled African American woman living in a low-income, subsidized apartment complex next to the ICE facility.

Portland Police arrested the conservative influencer Nick Sortor as they moved in on disorder at a protest outside an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in the Oregon city.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Five years after protests roiled Portland, Oregon, the city known for its history of civil disobedience is again at the center of a political maelstrom as it braces for the arrival of federal troops being deployed by President Donald Trump.
Months of demonstrations outside Portland’s immigration detention facility have escalated since Trump said last week he was sending federal troops to the city, which he described as “War ravaged.” Police made a few arrests late Thursday after fights broke out in the crowd, including of conservative influencer Nick Sortor on a disorderly conduct charge.
On Friday, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said the agency would send additional federal agents and the Justice Department was launching a civil rights investigation into the circumstances surrounding Sortor’s arrest, and whether the Portland Police Bureau engages in viewpoint discrimination.
Quick highlight clip from tonight's feed to show how these events look and feel:

It looks like an after school gathering with rap music in a very GTA-ish environment, Cookie Monster walking around in a friendly/menacing(?) manner, someone with a dog squeaky toy occasionally and tonight featured a Charlie Kirk supporter on a megaphone barking at the guy with the boombox....

Antifa FAQs: Where Did Antifa Come From?
https://capitalresearch.org/article/antifa-faqs-part-2/
Where Did Antifa Come From?
Antifa’s roots are primarily found in interwar Europe, especially within the tumultuous jockeying among the fascist, communist, and democratic political factions trying to fill the vacuum that was Weimar Germany in the early 1930s. Modern American Antifa traces its organizational lineage to the 1980s, and at least some of its ideological legacy to the various radical-left movements of the 1960s and 1970s.
The ideological antecedents of Antifa stretch back into the 19th century, and concerted anti-fascism emerged more or less contemporaneously with fascism in 1920s Italy. But the true spiritual ancestor of today’s Antifa was the far-left Antifaschistische Aktion, founded and controlled by the Communist Party of Germany in the last years of the Weimar Republic. The symbolism and tactics of this organization remain readily observable among many modern Antifa groups.
Although often remembered as Nazi fighters—and they certainly were that, too—Antifaschistische Aktion was in truth more deliberately employed against social democrats. To the Stalinist-aligned Communist Party of Germany, the Social Democratic Party was the real enemy (they called them “social fascists”) and Hitler’s Nazis were the lesser evil, at least for the time being. Indeed, Antifaschistische Aktion was originally formed as a response to—and actively sought to undermine—a group called the Iron Front, which was a last-ditch alliance of German democrats desperately trying to defend the Weimar Republic against the twin totalitarian threats of communism and fascism.
In the United States, organized Antifa can be traced back to the 1980s, specifically to a group originating in Minneapolis called Anti-Racist Action. Mark Bray, author of Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook, explains how Anti-Racist Action took inspiration not only from existing European Antifa groups, but also from a variety of American radical-left formations. He points to the John Brown Anti-Klan Committee—formed by former members of domestic terrorist groups like the Weather Underground and the May 19th Communist Organization—as well as the Black Panthers and the Black Liberation Army as examples. Bray writes that “it is crucial to situate [Anti-Racist Action] within a much longer and deeper struggle against a wide variety of Klansmen, hooded or otherwise.”
Rose City Antifa was established in 2007 by former Anti-Racist Action members, and the Torch Network was “born out of” Anti-Racist Action in 2013. This was still before the word “Antifa” was familiar to most Americans. It would remain that way until roughly 2017, when it exploded into public consciousness to such a degree that the Oxford Dictionaries included it on its shortlist of finalists for Word of the Year. That year, a series of very public confrontations between Antifa and those whom they opposed—most notably the assortment of neo-Nazis and other white supremacists at the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville—drew unprecedented attention to the movement.
Rose City Antifa
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rose_City_Antifa
Rose City Antifa was formed in 2007 to coordinate opposition to a music festival that was planned to be held near Portland by neo-Nazis associated with White Aryan Resistance.[3][9] According to one of its leaders, the group concentrates on "outing" people whom they believe to be neo-Nazis.[10] According to Alexander Reid Ross, the author of the book Against the Fascist Creep, Rose City Antifa grew out of the group Anti-Racist Action (ARA) which first appeared in 1987. Through Rose City Antifa, "the European and American models were sort of synthesized and the current model of Antifa in the US was developed".[11]

Fox News clip, but it has a guy who grew up in Seattle and had joined similar groups in 9th grade doing their recruiting. Portland is about 2 hrs from Portland and both have concentrations of these politics there so it's not surprising. So yeah, just kinda proves it's something young people are being exposed to earlier on and getting pulled into....
He was asked if "Violence was a core mission of the group?"... he paused and said "At that age, yes, it was a perk". I don't like how much the host leads with questions after this point. I get they have to keep it short, but yeah...

US Border Patrol agents shoot armed woman in Chicago after being ‘boxed in’ by cars
https://nypost.com/2025/10/04/us-news/us-border-patrol-agents-shoot-woman-in-chicago-after-they-were-boxed-in-by-cars/
U.S. Border Patrol agents shot an armed woman in Chicago Saturday after an angry mob tried to attack the law enforcement officers.
The group of agents were conducting their routine patrol near 39th Place and South Kedzie Avenue in the city’s South Side “when they were attacked and rammed by vehicles and boxed in by 10 cars,” the Department of Homeland Security said.
“The officers exited their trapped vehicle, when a suspect tried to run them over, forcing the officers to fire defensively,” according to DHS, which called the incident “an evolving situation” and noted FBI agents were currently on the scene.
The suspect, who is a U.S. citizen, was armed with a semi-automatic weapon, department spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin said.

Trump defies federal court, sends 300 California National Guard troops to Portland, Oregon: ‘On their way there now’
https://nypost.com/2025/10/05/us-news/trump-defies-federal-court-sends-300-california-national-guard-troops-to-portland-oregon/
President Trump on Sunday deployed 300 California National Guard troops to Portland, Oregon defying a federal order blocking the move – as Golden State Gov. Gavin Newsom vowed to sue in response.
“After a federal court blocked his attempt to federalize the Oregon National Guard, Donald Trump is deploying 300 California National Guard personnel into Oregon,” Newson said in a post on X, later calling the order “un-American.”
“They are on their way there now. We are taking this fight back to court. The public cannot stay silent in the face of such reckless and authoritarian conduct by the President of the United States.”
Newsom’s fiery threat comes hours after a federal judge temporarily halted the Trump administration from sending 200 Oregon National Guard troops to the “war ravaged” city that has been under siege by anti-ICE agitators for more than 100 straight days.

i mean ICE taking on illegal migrants okay, but this is going way too far now
people should have the right to protest, otherwise it no longer is a democracy
and tbh ICE deporting homeless people is a no go, if Trump wants there to be lesser homeless people, maybe build more homes, is that an idea?

Nick Sortor was assaulted. I have opinions about this because I saw this live...
Bv0-WVl3rZ8
While this was going on, the other guy who had gotten picked up the other day for screaming at the boom box man whose name is "Tommy" I believe decked one of the Antifa people and knocked them completely out.
Nick Sortor then is saying well, it's not right they can't walk a public sidewalk and they get to take it over... his logic "We don't have a country even if you can't even walk down a sidewalk"..
Right now they're setting up to march the streets through the public sidewalk which is definitely not going to inflame things. Meanwhile another person is screaming "Portland is not a warzone!"... so I guess another point they're possibly trying to make is that if they can't march through the sidewalk and are attacked, then it may actually prove the point...
Edit: And now they're all on the other side of the street merging with the other crowd and some are breaking out the weed....
Other fun sights tonight...

Listening/watching the live feed on and off and here's a summary:
It's cartoon characters mixed in with people marching with flags up and down the road. People are picking fights and soap-boxing over previous grievances that either happened earlier that day or on a different day loudly over a megaphone or just loudly in the center of different crowds talking to different people. Lots of drama and very intense.
At the same time there are different groups trying different tactics to piss off the other side without being too provocative while dozens of cameras and other bystanders are watching. It's just like a typical X/social media feed, but in real life. Every one of them could make this go by away very quickly by signing out and going home but most stay because of the spectacle.
Hearing air horns and superchats going off all around. Just heard Eric Cartman's voice coming off of someone's phone. The dog squeeky toys are back and some random girl is yelling at people about billionaires on a megaphone and about how they "don't care about you". Someone just asked her if she has an Only Fans and she's heckling them back.
Also, Jesus just walked down the street and waved to the crowd.
Annd the Palestine flag came out not too long after that lol. Ironic.
Chicago's protests has more conflict but the police will respond back with UoF/hands on crowd control. Portland PD doesn't want to do anything at all so it's mostly just them standing around with radios.

The Federal govt is allowed to call armies from different states. That's why they're called the National Guard.
National Guard (United States)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Guard_(United_States)
The National Guard is a state-based military force that becomes part of the U.S. military's reserve components of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force when activated for federal missions.[2]
Also, citizens who join the National Guard understand that they can called be all sorts of missions (including foreign). They've signed up for this work, regardless of which State they hail from. I've known people who signed up for the National Guard in the past because they know they're more likely to be called up over our own military.
They're effectively a reserve army that can be dispatched more easily in many cases. Employers aren't allowed to fire people who serve when called up and they have to maintain their training.
ive heard a lot of commentators talking about civil war, but i really don't see it happening. The difference in capability between the government and the people makes it as close to impossible as you could get.
There may be unrest, but when the national guard start killing civilians, it will soon be over

People who make explosive comments like that really don't understand the Constitution, so that says very little to me.
For 1) Virtually nothing that is happening today hasn't happened across our entire history. There's a fundamental tension between Federal and State that exists and it's by design. Edit: In that way, they're designed to cooperate until they don't and that's where bigger majorities may develop, things that can alter/amend the Constitution.
2) When most people talk about civil war, they're usually referring to a situation where it's The People as a sovereign entity rising up vs the Federal Govt. That's not how it will work. What will happen is the States individually will start to bulk and this effects Federal through our representation (Congress).
And yes, States arming themselves up between both its armed populace and militia/troops is our version of a civil war but there's too many avenues and steps that can be taken politically for that to be really necessary unless there is an outright invasion and it becomes an emergency. Sending troops to Portland to secure a federal facility doesn't count.
That said, I have been listening to livestreams and a general consensus is that Portland itself is safe. Even one of the MAGA people there (a German immigrant of 30 years) had said he thought this was a "mouse trap"-like situation where they were using the threat of troops to get enough extremists to come out of the woodwork so they could clean them out.
Antifa planning an attack tonight they said, whatever that means.. could mean against the building or the other protesters...

Portland police give public safety update after meeting with Kristi Noem
https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/portland-police-public-safety-meeting-001512259.html
...
When asked what the tone of the meeting with Noem was like, Day said there were clearly some differences of opinion between her and local law enforcement. However, they remained professional and discussed different ways of reducing conflict and dissonance near the Portland ICE facility for the sake of public safety.
Day said police have the surrounding streets cordoned off near the ICE facility, which he said is standard practice for visiting dignitaries. However, he could not say how long the area would remain sectioned off.
Chief Day acknowledged there had been crimes taking place, including property destruction and assaults, outside the ICE facility during protests, particularly during the month of June. Day said police responded by making a number of arrests, nearly 40 since June, and continue to remain actively engaged. However, he said the unrest and crime had declined significantly in the past few months. Only in the past 10 days has the “energy level” gone up, once again, during protests, Day said.
...
They had one person last night flee from an assault on one of the right-leaning agitators. He fled towards the river, but they supposedly caught him at some point.
Also, I'd saw on a stream briefly a truck had run into a fire hydrant and was releasing water into the sky. Not 100% sure it was Portland as it might've been Chicago. It looked like a proper waterfall.
They also had a drowning:

There's nothing wrong with being independent media and they exist across the spectrum. More that it's very easy to just pick up a camera and make all kinds of claims to grift. But thankfully there are enough people being honest at these protests that it doesn't seem to be a problem. Well, except the grifting... there's dysfunctionality amongst this crowd eeking out an existence by aggravating crowds and the people filming it are making a small profit by televising...
Though I guess it's not terribly different than what happens in traditional media.

As mentioned before, Antifa established a new camp further down the road from ICE in Portland and have come back with 4-5x the costumes now... they're trying to appear more harmless so maybe that produces bad imagery if the feds do come through...
https://i.postimg.cc/1zN1NCvR/251010-cartoons.jpg
Antifa are still walking up to people, antagonizing and threatening to harm them, Charlie Kirk them, etc. There's other non-Antifa people there also who are agitators.
They totaled a Charlie Kirk supporter's ("Tommy") 's car supposedly and got his work address, so now he claims he had to quit his job to "do what was right". I think he just wants to do the grift full time, personally.
This was the same guy that had been arrested walking around the street on a megaphone. He has a grift where he walks around on his camera while doing Lives and personally insulting/agitating them for reactions. Then actively bragging about how their reactions were making him "so much money" because his chat loved it. If they get in his space, he's threatened to "flatten them". So it's not like this is someone who goes for simply 1st Amendment reasons. He knocked out an Antifa member less than a week ago who he claimed was trying to rob him, which they had been doing to other protesters. They've gone back and forth between them assaulting him and issuing death threats. Most of this is caught on video, but it's not like he's there to discourage it either....
Allowing this to just fester and continue attracts criminality, including grifter types, who have their own history. So why they don't just shut it down to bring peace back to the neighborhood when violence and disorder is daily occurrence, I really don't understand...
Local News coverage about the cartoons and "Tommy" (Allen in the news story), the guy I was talking about before:
ghKGmKGUnuQ
I was watching a video where it was said by someone who regularly films with him that he didn't read his own court paperwork (common) about needing to stay a certain distance away from the ICE building. He was warned before his arrest by police that he wasn't allowed within 200 ft despite having the right to arrest him. He kept up anyway so they picked him up... judge let him go the next day with the same warning.

The soft propaganda with the costumes is working. (They are fun to watch, though). Media have been eating it up and using it to re-frame Antifa as a disorganized non-entity that is somehow able to manage a highly organized costume festival...
9hTlJH3Sen4
Have seen the froggy costumes in particular circulating on social media and seeing memes and comments along the lines of... "How could anyone see such childishness as a serious terror threat!?"... it's really effective.
Meanwhile, there's now proof Antifa have been moving supplies in and out of the warehouse directly next to the Ice Center. Not sure if it's a storage unit or of it's part of that company and they broke in... wouldn't be unusual, they usually go for abandoned areas and some were saying the waterfront business in particular had to vacate because they couldn't operate with everything else going on.
1977928792028147785
There's not many streams going right now and I'm really not interested in following this twit screaming at Antifa members all night long. Most of the people with live feeds are not very good at documenting...
I saw the Ghostbusters Pillsbury Doughboy marching around when I checked a stream a bit ago. And yes, I bet they have had no shortage of costumes with it being this close to Halloween and all...

Appeals court allows Trump administration to deploy National Guard in Portland
https://www.cnn.com/2025/10/20/us/trump-san-francisco-national-guard-legal-battle-hnk
A Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruling Monday will allow the Trump administration to deploy National Guard troops in Portland, saying it is likely to succeed on its appeal of an order that blocked the deployment.
The appellate court ruling — an important legal victory in a showdown over presidential power that’s happening on multiple fronts — grants the administration’s motion to stay the lower court’s order blocking the deployment while the appeal plays out.
The three-judge panel weighed in after US District Judge Karin Immergut last week ruled to extend her temporary restraining order barring the deployment of federal troops to Portland.
Even if Trump exaggerates the severity of Portland’s protests on social media, “this does not change that other facts provide a colorable basis to support the statutory requirements,” the majority said in the ruling.

Katie Wilson — a 43-year-old socialist who still lives off parents’ money — wins Seattle mayoral race

Self-proclaimed socialist Katie Wilson — who is still financially supported by her New York parents at 43 years old — will be the next mayor of Seattle, overseeing a budget close to $9 billion.
Wilson, whose campaign was likened to that of fellow Democratic Socialist Zohran Mamdani in New York City, secured the lead over incumbent Mayor Bruce Harrell on Wednesday.
Unlike the New York City race, however, the Seattle election went down to the wire, with Wilson squeezing just enough votes to win and avoid an automatic recount.
“This campaign was driven by a deep belief that we need to expand the table to include everyone in the decisions that impact their lives,” Wilson said in a victory statement. “That is what we will be working to do every day as we set up this new administration.”
Wilson secured her win by advocating for progressive proposals, including introducing city-run grocery stores and taxing the rich. She also vowed to “Trump-proof” the city.
“Yes, I am a socialist,” Wilson said earlier this year.
“I’m not out here waving a socialist flag, because I’m not a super ideological person. I’m also not sure that label will help me in the general election. But yes, I’m fine with being called a socialist,” she added.
The 43-year-old, who moved to Seattle in her 20s with her now-husband, admitted last month that she relies on her parents, both New York professors, to help with childcare expenses.
The money goes toward day care for Wilson’s 2-year-old, which costs $2,200 per month, she told KUOW.
Wilson also dropped out of college just six weeks before graduation — but debt-free, thanks to her generous parents, the outlet said.

She attended the elite University of Oxford in England.
She will now lead the major US city, overseeing 41 departments and a budget of nearly $9 billion.
