Earlier I looked on a news site and learned of this at the same time that I learned of Ian Watkins being murdered in prison. I remember the dichotomy really struck me at the time, the contrast between Hollywood royalty probably dying peacefully in her bed, surrounded by loved ones, and this depraved beast of a man dying violently and brutally in a grotty little cell. It was quite the image.

R.I.P. to Diane Keaton. Though I have to admit that I didn't pay much attention to her work outside of The Godfather moves and that romance film she did with Jack Nicholson.

Is that the movie with James Spader? I've wanted to watch that movie in the past. Though more for James Spader than Diane Keaton, being completely honest.

Nah, Harold Ramis, the Ghostbuster

I've looked it up and James Spader is also in it. Though it seems I've built him up as having a bigger role in that movie than he actually does.

Oh i had no idea, must admit, only see it a couple times when i was a kid. But is a very sweet film, typical 80'sness too, which i love.

So sad to hear this. Loved so many of her films. She was in one of my favourite Christmas films, The Family Stone. She was a bit of a legend.

…awww, this is so sad and such a shock, apparently many of her closest friends hadn’t been fully aware of her deterioration of health, she was such a private person…2025 takes another legend…such an endearing actress in her roles and such a unique style, I always felt that she didn’t play the role of Annie Hall so much as Annie Hall was who she was in her styling……so many Diane Keaton movies that are part of my go to feel good watches, First Wives Club, Father of the Bride…Something’s Gotta Give…and she and Jack Nicholson were so terrific together as an in screen coupling…

…so many other legends tributing her with their thoughts and words, from Jane Fonda…

“It’s hard to believe...or accept…that Diane has passed. She was always a spark of life and light, constantly giggling at her own foibles, being limitlessly creative…in her acting, her wardrobe, her books, her friends, her homes, her library, her world view. Unique is what she was. And, though she didn’t know it or wouldn’t admit it, man she was a fine actress!”

Not a fan of her acting. But sad all the same for her family and the people who love her movies.

Was she really ‘all that’ ?

I just recall her long , occasionally romantic links with her friend and lover … Woody Allen who is an alleged child abuser

Clearly she was...she wasn't up there with the Greats but nonetheless she was a good actress and always looked classy.

Diane Keaton’s family has revealed that the Hollywood star died of pneumonia.

After the actor’s death aged 79, Keaton’s relatives said her health had declined “suddenly”, and thanked her fans for their outpouring of “love and support”.

Her family also urged well-wishers hoping to honour Keaton’s memory to donate to an animal shelter or a charity which helps the homeless, two causes he was passionate about.

"The Keaton family are very grateful for the extraordinary messages of love and support they have received these past few days on behalf of their beloved Diane,” the statement said, according to People.

Just flawed judgement when it came to friends and lovers
