View Full Version : Is it harsh that Elsa, Marcus, and Tate get called out for being boring?

Is it just me that believes that it's a bit unfair that those three regularly get called out for being boring?
I mean up until last night's episode, I would argue that Nancy hadn't done anything that was remotely interesting. And time will tell if Nancy can go beyond the Italian/Pansexual box ticks from here on out.
And I would also argue that there isn't much difference between Marcus and Sam in entertainment value either.
And there's a couple of others that I could name (and they're not Feyisola) that haven't exactly been bringing their A-Game to the Show imo.
Basically does anyone else agree with me that there are Housemates in this line-up that are possibly more boring than Elsa, Tate, and Marcus, but are not being pulled up for it as much?

I still couldn't tell you what Tate looks like. I think my brain wipes him out while he is on screen.
Elsa I wouldn't say is as boring as the other two, but she's very moody. Marcus probably wouldn't have a story line without her.

Elsa explained last night ( after she was saved by the viewers ) that she’s conscious that she hasn’t shown her true self but will try to from now on
Sorry can’t recall the reasons she gave .. maybe someone else will

It’s just ridiculously poor and unfair editing

It definitely feels like the Show has an agenda against Marcus and Tate in particular.

When I call them boring it's not in a personal way, Marcus and Elsa having a weird insecure showmance just bores me, it's not something I'm interested in. I do feel for Tate because he's not getting air time at all.

You should watch the livestreams at bedtime around 1 to 2am - they are the perfect couple and sometimes fall asleep holding hands ..
The main show edits just show Elsa being needy - only they know why they are driving that narrative unless it’s because so many are against a possible showmance

Agreed though in the live stream Tate does spend time talking about the scriptures /bible with Richard so he’s not helping himself

That's him still doing more than what the highlights are making out.
They did the same thing with Thomas last year.
…I dislike house showmances and romances and crowmances because we no longer get to see those housemates as individuals and lose all of that interest and promise that we had when they first went in on launch night…the airtime given tends to be all couple time TV, which holds very limited interest…it’s always sad to see that potential become lost in the same old, same old…

Fair point but these things happen especially in high pressure environments like this
Some pair up like Feyisola and Zelah or Jenny and Cameron or Nancy and Sam … others pair up romantically

…and pairing up romantically is fine and cool and dandy also, if it’s what any housemate chooses…but that doesn’t mean that those directions will be of interest to the fans/viewers/voters etc so no, it isn’t harsh if that labelling of boring is then applied/as is the thread, it’s so often an inevitable because it has very limited highlight/airtime value…

Decrying a housemate for being boring is not harsh but utterly fatuous. It is a subjective utterance unsurprisingly wholly unsupported by examples and, therefore, of little value. Redolent of bias and ill will.
By definition, it is unfair.
When people are bored, it is primarily with their own selves that they are bored. – Eric Hoffer

Nope, so far they have indeed been boring
According to the edit, which we know can be unfair

I think Tate is too chill for this show, he's shown he's pretty determined to avoid any drama or confrontation which is fair enough but not great television. Maybe he'd have been better a few years ago but he seems to have mellowed as he's got older and is now reading the Bible and all that

Zelah is by far the most boring housemate but gets a pass becoz you know wot
Elsa is super boring
Tate is a nice guy but whoever thought he would be a good HM has never watched BB before
Marcus is boring and has silly eyebrows - i dont think his IQ is over 60

I actually don’t think any of those 3 are boring, they just don’t really get involved in any major drama. I feel like we’ve had way more boring HMs in the last 2 series’
