I think indirectly you are right... The producers clearly told Farida to shake things up and get the house moving but she also clearly is not very bright or at all subtle so this was her interpretation of that directive.

I think that inside her head that she sees herself working for the production team.

I mean, why on Earth would a new HM even care if the old ones were boring? All the easier to make an impact and win, right? Why would you work to make them all more 'entertaining' unless you thought you had been given that as a job?
