View Full Version : Elsa's nomination of Tate - has public perception changed?

In previous series of Big Brother, if someone nominated a housemate they were seemingly close to they would be criticised. Elsa and Tate are clearly close, she even referred to it in the nomination, and, like Cameron B before, I think he would be shocked if he learned she had chosen him. But there is a severe lack of criticism for the decision, and it's the second time she's chosen someone she is supposedly friends with.

Is this because Tate is unpopular? Elsa and Teja are popular? Or is it deeper, that nominations are perhaps not taken as seriously as they used to be, or house dynamics are not as understood due to a lack of live feed? In years gone by that nomination would have had some kick back. Now, it's barely getting a mention.

we've seen various flimsy reasons for nominating which in previous series would not have been accepted...

It's not the reasoning that's in question. Actually I can see the logic behind the reason (nothing will beat Sam nominating Marcus for being too good looking in the flimsy stakes). It's more acting close to someone in the house, then nominating them behind their back.

And yet that reaction seems a new thing across the board. I wouldn't say there would be that laissez-faire attitude in previous series - at least prior to ITV.

I personally didn't like Elsa's reason for nominating Tate.

But then again, I felt that Tate's reason for nominating Jenny was a tad unfair, given that he didn't nominate Nancy for doing the exact same thing.

So unfortunately bad nomination reasons will always be prevalent.

I think she nominated Tate because Marcus spends time with him and she wants him to herself rather than anything else

I think the difference is, in Tate's mind, Nancy owns it. She's not going around saying people shouldn't gossip about her then doing it herself. It's the hypocrisy Tate was nominating Jenny for.

I get that tbf.

I just personally disagree with Tate though, because Jenny was only really bitching about Nancy in retaliation.

But I do understand Tate is having his mate's back.
