If she found this decision really that difficult, then Tate had given her the perfect and easiest way around it, by volunteering his eye currency for her to take.
She then actually chose not to just take that option and thank him for his generosity.

You see it differently than I do.

In my view, it wouldn't really have been a copout if she'd accepted Tate's offer.
There's never in my view a really fair way to take away all of something from someone else.

Had actually no-one offered their currency then that would have been very different.
Just my thinking though.
